Hi, i hope you don't mind me asking. My wife and i are heading to melbourne in October from Northern Ireland, she is actually due to give birth to our first child in March. We will be travelling under a 457 visa (i'm a doctor working in ED in Melbourne) and she has been added to my visa. I would just like to clarify where we will stand regarding expenses for the antenatal,birth and delivery. did you have to pay anything? we will not have private insurance (since they wont pay out within 12 months anyway for obs treatment) so will be landed with a hefty bill? From what i can find we wont be entitled to any "baby bonus" etc. hope you can offer some advice, i have looked extensively and seem unable to get a clear answer! many thanks
