You can try to check whirlpool about internet providers. There are tons of recommendation and review for each provider. If your area is serviceable by NBN go for it. Phone, if you're on the fibre area then VOIP is the only solution. RSP offer unlimited calls anywhere in Australia less than $80

Good point Paul1Perth.. FTTP should be for businesses only. For me, I'm good with ADSL2+ as long it serves what I need. Most of the time people now tend to use their mobile for the internet connection and most of the time everyone is at work or in school.

After the hearing with NBNCo and Senate Select Committee. NBNCo pointed out 3 major priorites. Three major priorities: 1. Completing the rollout as soon as possible; 2. Achieving a minimum level of service; 3. Doing this at a minimum cost. I hope we get all of those 3 instead of being lucky to get one out of three, if that happens I think there's a problem about the approach of Abbot to future technology.

Thanks for this John. I'll check them if they have under the table plan because we've been offered $99 free calls to local national and mobile calls with 250GB allowance anytime. Looks promising but I've heard bad things about them like on the news that tpg fined $400,000 due to denying access to emergency numbers I think i need to research more about it. Paul, you can still drop your bill less than a $100. You go with VOIP service so there would be no more copper line rental. Since you mentioned that your speed is good enough, then you will not have any trouble connecting to VOIP service. Most providers have VOIP service since it will be cheaper for the call rates and sometimes calling local and national calls are free. I think the trial for fibre to the node had stalled. Most RSPs accept application for NBN Fibre service which is on a eligible location and once the FTTN, FTTH and FTTB are available they will just switch them over for free.

Try to check if you can have NBN Fibre service in your location. It will be more reliable and faster than ADSL2+. Having the NBN service will no longer deal with Telstra lines.
