Hi , thanks for the reply. I will definitely get the local paper tomorrow to see what's on. We are finding things to do already and it seems like there's actually a lot more activities for children here than back at home. I'm just missing my other mummy friends at the moment but I know these things take time. We are staying pretty central and have a car so managing to get around easily enough. Thanks again x

We have arrived one month ago with our two girls, 3&2 in an attempt to give them chance to acclimatise..... Hopefully. Weathers been lovely..... A tad hotter than us Northern English are used too ;-) ha ha Ha VeryStormy..... I've had a few "washouts" in the white house and cricket club in Hartlepool though !!!!

Just an update. Here now renting in Cairns One. Happy with the spot and now just on the hard part of finding our place in the social circle. Kids had a blast at tiny tots just off Anderson street this morning. thanks Phil

Hi, we moved to Cairns three weeks ago with our two children ( 3 + 2 ) and wondered if anyone can recommend any toddler / preschool groups where the kids can meet new friends and so can mum. Thanks in advance

Hi all, quick thoughts if you have a spare 5. My family of 4 are moving to Cairns on 28 august. (3&2 yr old) looking forward to it. We have been to cairns a couple of times. I will be working in the city and may eventually end up at Brinsmead however in the short term we are thinking of a short term rental at cairns one on Gregory st, westcourt. I have stayed at a mates there for three weeks in 2010 and thought it would be nice for our early months while getting a better feel for suburbs. Was just wondering if any locals have any thoughts on the resort. thanks in advance, Phil
