  1. Fingers crossed for you!...looking forward to seeing New Zealand and enjoying some well earned time out! :-)
  2. Cant believe it!....after all the worry yesterday I got an e-mail telling me to leave Australia as they are about to grant! Have to notify them of when and where my flight takes off and then have to be away for 3 working days....worth the wait and I start the new job the following Monday!!...congrats to all the grantees I hope its another good week next week for everyone !!!! :-)
  3. It seems very strange at this late hour but i guess they have to dot the i's etc !.... just hoping its our turn soon so we can start our new life together without the worry of the visa!
  4. Had a strange request from CO today asking for a typed and scanned letter from celebrant to confirm new wedding date and marriage app in February, we missed the first date of 27th of Sept due to visa not being granted in time and agent said that was first time that had happened in 20 years as an agent....not feeling very confident about grant now i have to admit, have sent the paperwork asked for to my agent just now and the CO will now have it on her desk, its a very strange request so late on i was expecting a grant as i am in OZ waiting to leave the country not more questions or requests, congrats to all those who got their green light this week!...hopefully we can have some good news soon too as its beginning to be quite stressful now !!
  5. Thats good to hear, I am currently in Newcastle NSW and currently on 8 months and 4 days I am hoping that next week is my week! Can't wait to start work and earn some money as the last two months here although its been great with my fiance has eaten into my savings and my job is waiting !! Well done on the grant :-)
  6. Keeping fingers crossed for this week.... I soo need to go do some work ! :-)
  7. Changed our wedding date to end of February now as the end of Sept was just not practical, hopefully a quick e-mail to say the date has changed might just get this early February lodged application the green light!!.... you never know but at least the weather here in Newcastle is well good !!...congrats to all those grantees this week looks like just over the 8 month mark is the norm so fingers crossed next week !!!
  8. Soon on the 8 month mark into early October, rather put out that my agent e-mailed our CO over ten days ago and no reply at all has been forthcoming..... still in Newcastle waiting to start the job i was successful in getting and ready to jump ship to New Zealand in a heartbeat but i guess like everyone else will have to wait my turn but it would be good to get the grant and start work as its getting a bit tedious doing the housework and cooking dinner every night !! Congrats on those recent grantees hope it all works out for you ;-)
  9. Over in Newcastle right now and have landed a top job with a machinery specialist but just one problem....need my visa! I am lucky that the company is happy to wait until it is granted and my agent has sent an e-mail to my CO asking them if its possible they could hurry it up...not holding my breath but its nice to know I have work to go to straight away, I seem to have brought the weather over from blighty too as its freezing cold and raining all the time here right now!. Fingers crossed they listen to my agent and i get an early grant !! Hope the rest of you guys that are due have a great week and get your grants too its looking more like 9 months is normal.
  10. Thanks all, some very comforting and reassuring answers therin, it seems a tough long road and i find the mental strain tougher than the physical side, it is quite hard, but I am paid to think a lot so not a surprise really! I e-mailed my agent at GM and he more or less said its just a waiting game from now on so i guess i am happy with that, i obtained a multiple entry ETA very early on in the process which is valid until next May so I shouldnt have any issues with cross over and I will aim to be out of OZ during most of October as I have some great friends in NZ so hopefully i will get the grant while over there, as for looking for work beforehand I think it is more of a browse for a month or two to see what i want to do as I am qualified in so many different occupations, plus i am lucky enough to already have a house i am leasing and no financial issues, but its still a huge jump !!! Good luck to all with their apps and just remember you are NOT alone !!
  11. I hope so, I am surprised my agent hasnt relayed such information, it would certainly help with the anxious wait, i have e-mailed him tonight and asked if everything is Ok... hopefully i should get some idea !
  12. I am with Go Matilda and they have been great so far, but its tough not hearing anything at all since early May, it would be nice to just hear that your app is all good and you just need to wait, it would be a tough call to wait all this time and get a no ! Good luck with your app too :-)
  13. I had my meds and Police check done early may as requested and heard nothing back, though have no Police or medical issues, I was asked to supply a copy of my Decree absolute at the same time which i did, and that was it, havent heard anything since, my visa is prospective marriage my fiance is Australian and i am from the UK :-)
  14. Had a case officer assigned 4 Feb 2014 so the wait is tougher as it gets further in, havent heard anything at all from my CO, is that good or bad? I intend going over to OZ in mid August to start job hunting etc but you do get this awful feeling in your stomach that it may not happen, medicals and Police checks all good in early May, its just tough not hearing anything, anyone else feeling the same?
  15. The days do seem to mingle into a blur, the wait is like sitting on a wall and watching life from a different vantage point to everyone else, like the naughty seat of the adult world, you live it but nothing registers or seems important. It makes you appreciate those such as forces members who are apart for long periods of time to protect other peoples families. In some way it is a life experience that we should all go through to a degree to appreciate what we have, it has brought me and my Australian fiance even closer together despite the distance we are physically apart, oh and yes of course we are counting the days !
