I will be arriving in Sydney next week, looking to possibly find work there and house share. Can any one give me any advice on the best way to find work (willing to do anything at first). I have been in Australia 3 weeks and have just about to finish travelling the easy Coast. I am 19 years old also! Thanks

Me and my friend are looking to be in Australia by August this year, we have been looking to go to the Gold Coast to start off. Having recently spoke to somebody who has just left the Gold Coast and is now in Darwin, we are having second thoughts as he said there is a lot of work there and a lot of regional work too. Can anybody tell me what it is like in Darwin bearing in mind we are both 19 years old and like to go out etc...

Well depending on how difficult it will be to find work then i might resort to doing anything but obviously I would prefer to be doing something a bit better than cleaning etc. What is the best thing to do when we arrive to look for a job then?

I am 18 and have been unemployed for a while now and got sick of searching for jobs and getting turned away. I have looked into a working holiday in Oz for 6-12 months, a friend of mine is also interested in coming along with me. I am unsure whether to go through a company with one of their packages or sort it all out myself, which is usually best? Is it often possible to secure a job before you go over there? and if not, how long could you be without work for? (looking for Fruit picking jobs for the first 6 months) I am interested in the Melbourne area, are there a lot of jobs in this area of the country? if not where is better? Would me and my friend be able to find an affordable hostel/apartment to stay in together? can we do this before we arrive in Australia? Thanks for any help!
