  1. Hi all just wondering if anyone has any experience on the citizenship applications coming through at different stages? we applied on 1 Dec 2017 and both passed our test on 20 March. Mine changed tk approved on 12 April and Hubby’s is still just received. obviously we asked for our ceremony to be together but it will be so annoying if His takes the whole 15 months processing time. There is a ceremony in 4 weeks with our local council... I was hoping to be in that cohort. how long have others had to wait? thanks
  2. We have just applied for our Citizenship by conferral. How long have others been waiting?
  3. https://www.airbnb.com.au/rooms/8343743?checkin=15-12-2015&checkout=22-12-2015&guests=5&s=eTzv If anyone is doing a trial visit to the Mornington Peninsula and is looking for accommodation feel free to have a look at our home. It is hard deciding where to live when you arrive. We are very happy in Safety Beach but we are taking our baby to UK for a White Christmas.
  4. We were told we just needed 3 months pay slips xx
  5. Yey we have just had an aussie baby too and we are moving back to UK too. We have ordered bubs an aussie passport. Exciting times xx
  6. Hi Rose, I remember reading your post a while back when I found out I was pregnant too. We have been through the same heartache as you it sounds. Lots of yelling and saying things we don't mean but we have decided we are going home on 25th October. I am so happy and luckily hubby is too.. I can imagine him saying things like yours did nearer the time but my sister surprised us last night and is staying for our last two months so we have decided to quit our jobs and travel round Oz for the last two months. It is going to be busy sorting out everything in a short time but hopefully we Will arrive home refreshed and ready to start again. Luckily my hubby has been offered his old job back and I have been offered supply teaching for the Christmas half term when we get back... just wish we hadn't sold our house in the UK now! Hope your move went well. Xx
  7. We have made the decision and have booked our tickets back to UK for October. .. so happy it feels so good when you have decided.
  8. Thanks for your post Rose. I am crying my eyes out because we are in exactly the same position, although luckily my husband has been a bit underwhelmed by Australia since we got here. When are you due? We aren't due until January. We are just starting the discussion about going back. We sold our house in England and shipped out our 3 animals. Jees it's a hard decision about whether to go back before or after the birth. Thinking of you.
  9. We moved our 18 month year old dog and 2 1 year old cats with us from England to Melbourne. It was the best decision we ever made!!! They were so excited to see us when we picked them up and didn't seem phased by the journey or time away form us at all! We have been here since October 2013 and they have completely settled in and we can't imagine life without them. We used Animal Couriers from the UK they were amazing and made the whole process so easy.
  10. Hi, we used Animal Couriers in the UK. They were AMAZING!!!!! Lesley made the whole process so easy from start to finish. Would completely recommend and we would definately use them again. They even sorted quarantine, vets and accommodation as we had to leave before our dog and 2 cats. http://www.animalcouriers.com/
  11. :animal-dog::animal-cat::animal-cat: I shipped my Border Collie and two cats to Melbourne from the UK. Lesley O Sullivan from Animal Couriers made the whole process so easy! We had some trouble with a "Human Error" at the vets. They wrote the wrong microchip number down for one of our cats and we had to redo the whole of the rabies and blood test process over!!! We had to leave without the animals due to the Vet's assistants mistake. Lesley organised boarding for our trio down south and then handled all the paperwork and organised all the flights and export and import permits. When they were ready to be flown over there wasn't any space in Melbourne quarantine and Lesley organised them to be flown to Sydney which meant we were able to get them a month earlier than if we had waited for space in Melbourne. Animal Couriers emailed us all the time with up dates and sent us pictures and included us on their blog. They used Burntwood Boarding Kennels in West Sussex who looked after our pets as if they were their own and now they are here safe and sound. I would recommend Animal Couriers highly to anyone who is making the move to Oz. Just though I'd share my experience
  12. We are getting the stuff we shipped tomorrow!! And we have a time between 8.30-10am (which iv found so far in Oz they stick to the quoted time usually they earlier half! ). We used John Mason they came and packed all our goods on October 19th and then we waited for the container to be filled. They have kept us to to date with the progress. Will let you know tomorrow if we loose anything!! Ally xx
  13. Our dog and 2 cats arrived in Melbourne from Sydney quarantine after 2 months apart. They were so happy to see us. They have settled in after a few days the first time we had to leave them in the house the dog cried but is ok now. It's 41° here today and they are all asleep under the bed. The heat is the hardest part for them I think. But so glad we decided to being them. Even if the laws are just changing. Grumble!! Enjoy your babies xx
  14. Ah good luck! I'm just applying for my first job today! I arrive in Melbourne in a couple of weeks! So will be great to hear how she got on! sending her positive thoughts! X
  15. Thank you all for your advice. Exactly what I was looking for
