  1. Hi Shebeast, it is well worth calling as they were very helpful to me and I got my grant in 5 minutes while I was still on the phone. It did take a few tries till the number was free though. Good luck.
  2. I think you would be eligible for 189 and 190 visa until the age of 45. Just wanted to add I wanted to make the move for several years but my long term partner too didn't want to do it. So we took a holiday there and then he was completely on board with wanting to make the move. I didn't have to convince him at all as he made a well informed decision based on what he saw and experienced and he absolutely loved Oz. So it is possible for partners to share your dream without you needing to convince them. Once again good luck Spanners.
  3. Hi Spanners, as Colette did, at least get the visa and try it out. You then have 4 years from your first entry stamp to decide whether to move permanently but you do have to get that first stamp in the first year. I've been to Oz a couple of times and it's absolutely amazing, a much better standard of life. Personally, I would say go for it, try it, if you don't like it, you can always return. It's new life, a new adventure and heaps to offer. If you don't do it now, in 5 years time, you won't have the option anymore. I hope it works out for you. Good luck with the decision.
  4. Congratulations Wayne, very happy for you.
  5. Leah28 thank you. Admin removed the number. Perhaps you could send it in a private message? Thanks again.
  6. Hi Leah, could you give me the number you contacted GSM Adelaide on please?
  7. Hi WayneA, could you share the numbee you usesmd to contact DIBP please?
  8. Glad you got to the bottom of it. Good luck in getting it sorted and your application.
  9. Yes that's right, the payment is after Submit Application. Your application is not considered as having been fully submitted until you pay. If you are not doing your medicals and PC first, then go ahead and pay and start uploading after that as you'll have at least a good 4 weeks before a CO is allocated. Good luck with your application.
  10. I phoned the general 1300 number and they said my CO was assigned a calendar month after I submitted my application however I have not been notified as they did an initial check and didn't require anything from me. I was approaching three months in the same week, but they said the three months starts from the date of CO allocation. Thereby meaning 4 months from date of submission. They said you will only be notified if the case officer needs something from you. I did find that a bit hard to believe as the website states that you will be notified of CO allocation within two weeks. They said that's not always the case and it's just a matter of waiting.
  11. Hey Pommie, you could email the UK office to find out, they are quite helpful however could take 48 hours to respond. If you call, you could possibly be on hold for a while. I had trouble with the system for almost a week when I tried to get my HAP. I got a message saying that there was a technical glitch and to try and again, and it was fine when I did. However, do you have a current visa for Australia, be it even a working holiday etc? If so, that may be a reason. Sorry if none of this is relevant to you and good luck with your application.
  12. Hi Indianinoz if you want to find out the details of your medicals, you can call the centre you visited for your check and quote them your TRN and ask them for an update on the phone. Alternatively you can even ask if they'll email you your results, they won't however tell you whether you have cleared the medical check as they are not permitted to do so, they can only advise you of the result from their side, but it will be pretty evident from what they say as to whether you have anything to worry about.
  13. I am contemplating the move, and am so glad there are people like you that can give us an honest opinion about regretting the move rather than shying away from admitting that it wasn't the right choice. I am very happy in London but have family in Oz and would like to be closer to them. I am very nervous as I won't be moving to the same states as either of my brothers but would need to move to Canberra, I know nothing about it. However just like you, I'd rather regret something I did than something I didn't do. I have lived in the UK for 10 years and would like to move on now and experience something new as life has become a bit stagnant. I do however have a good job in London and am nervous about the unknown.
