  1. Hey all, Haven't been active on this forum but have been following, just got mine, here's my timeline Visa & Nomination - August 5th 2015 HR Country, MA used Granted - February 8th 2016 Decision ready application submitted - no docs requested
  2. Hey @ all I'm currently waiting for my 186 visa to come through as well. I have a question regarding police clearances. How long are international police clearances deemed valid under immigration department standards from the date of issue. Particularly clearances from UAE. It says 3months on the clearance but it also takes 3 months to get one!
  3. Same here mate, been waiting almost 6 weeks now. Co requested docs about 4 weeks ago, still nothing, my agent emailed the co twice with no response!!!
  4. UAE is not third world, it's a first world nation.
  5. Put it like this, I live in Adelaide with my partner now, I love Australia, it's good in so many ways but UAE, especially Dubai in another kind of animal!!!!!! It's a good place for young families to start off in, like I said in my previous post, safety and respect for women kids is unmatched and their law and order system is near perfect!
  6. Jr88, where's Ur passport from? Eta or non eta nation?
  7. Hey mate. E457 lodged offshore on 07/02/13 application being processed further on 14/02/13 CO assigned and communication after on 15/02/13 still waiting for outcome, status says chest x ray reports required! Already submitted them with application!
  8. Lived in UAE for about 17 years, Fujairah/Dubai mostly. i would say salaries are good there, comfy life since almost all your bills usually are taken care of by the company you work for, atleast middle to higher management jobs. Permanent migration is not possible but doing a stint for a few years, it's perfect. Kind of the only place you'd get to drive a 100,000$ car easy. In terms of culture, the nations built up of 70% expats. It's a bit conservative depending on where you go but a city like Dubai might rival Australia's best and has come a long way. generally what I felt there was and a lotta people say this. If you have young kids, it's the place to be, law and order is perfect, it's safe for anyone to roam the streets at 2am. Kids don't exposed to stuff like drugs since its looked down upon heavily. Women's rights, I think especially in cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi, women are treated better and would generally feel a safer than most Australian cities. Good law and order system. biggest let down in Dubai is the lack of job security, every time the US takes a hit financially, UAE is the first get affected. not a bad place to get some experience and some cash, not forever though. Hope this helps!!
  9. I gues he didn't understand that my previous 485 grad visa was refused and The only way for another visa application is offshore. anyone have any timelines for 457 being granted specifically from the Brisbane team? the co hasn't even responded to a status update from my agent in almost a week now!
  10. What visa are you applying for? 34k is kinda absurd, never seen a visa that requires that much.. what visa subclass is it?
  11. My agent said that I don't meet shedule 3 criteria and the application would get complicated too.. im just wondering why It's taking this long to be granted, mine was a simple decision ready application. My boss back in Adelaide is not impressed!!
  12. hey mate, didn't know they issued visas overnight! thats pretty cool. anyways in the same boat as you, lodged on 07/2/13, CO on 15/02/13 - nothing yet to date, still waiting for my 457 visa too, sucks ey, hopefully we hear back soon!
  13. Hey ABA yup did that exactly, work sponsored me as I'm a hotel duty manager and I hold a bachelors degree in international hotel management from Le cordon Bleu Australia. So yeah I left the country on a BVB, my work agent submitted all docos including police checks and a skills assessment even though it wasn't asked and my chest x rays as I'm from a non ETA nation. Left aus on 05/02/13 visa lodged online on 07/02/13 visa processed further on 14/02/13 case officer assigned and requested the actual grad certificate copy on 15/02/13 scanned color copies and sent off the next day. havent heard anything since!!! Been a month! And my online visa status still shows chest x ray required and health reqs outstanding? Why? Agent the CO more than once with no reply back. Just a bit frustrating as I need to keep up with all my payments back in Adelaide and my partner wants me back. whats happened the the addition 2billion dollar funding for this visa? It's a month now and nothing's happened yet!
  14. Well 457 can work wonders for most people as it allows you to gain 4 years of Australian work exp, which can then allow you to apply for PR on your own using the points system, provided you have a relevant skill or education background that is in demand in Australia
  15. Waiting list for the MRT is about 2 years, lol I just want that 485 visa cancelled altogether. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to re-enter on a bridging visa B until my new visa is finalised because there's a bar on my passport applying for visas onshore after my 485 grad visa got refused.
