  1. Have you approached migration WA and receive the release letter?
  2. Well I have not approached the Migration Office yet as I am still searching for jobs here in WA. However, I have heard from so many posters around here that if you have an offer from outside the state, then you can go to the migration office, show them the offer and can get the release letter easily. I suggest you to go there and talk to them.
  3. When I looked at immigration dept website for the list of relatives who can sponsor, then I found out the following: The relative or the relative’s partner you want to sponsor must be your: child or stepchild parent or step-parent brother, sister, adoptive brother, adoptive sister, stepbrother, step sister, niece, nephew, adoptive niece, adoptive nephew, step niece, step nephew, aunt, uncle, adoptive aunt, adoptive uncle grandparent or first cousin. Your sponsor should provide certain documents as listed in the document checklist Where in this it states that you can sponsor your sister in law or brother in law? Can anyone clarify?
  4. I don't know about Points 1 and 3. However as far as Point 2 is concerned, then you have been mislead. Under skills select, having positive skill assessment and 60 points is not enough. You need to receive invitation before you can lodge a visa application. That's for sure.
  5. Thank you very much for the advice
  6. I am finding it hard to get a job out here in Perth. An acquaintance of mine suggested that he can find me work there in Albany if I was willing to make a move. That's why I wanted to find about some information before making the final decision.
  7. I am planning to move to Albany but before that I want to gather as much information as possible. Can anyone here tell me about Albany? How's it like? The weather there, accommodation, suburbs, transportation system, Job prospects etc
  8. I am in the same predicament. I have applied for countless jobs many of which was step-down from what I was doing in the past but still not even a single interview call let alone the job offer. That is for the field I was granted my PR for, I even tried out for several in between jobs and that too for no avail. Having said that I have not yet decided to move on. However, if the situation doesn't change in couple of months then I may also have to take the same route. Any suggestion in this regard will be appreciated.
  9. Hi Alan, I read the entire thread for the first time and my eyes are filled with tears. I am also a migrant to Perth and have not found the work for four months. I was feeling depressed and sometimes questioning my decision to migrate. So I can understand how hard It must have been for you. Going by the first posting of this thread, it is more than 2 years old and that's why I admire you even for your sheer perseverance and will to survive. I wish I could have been of some help. But please don't loose the hope. I am sure you will get over it sooner than later. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Cheers!!!
  10. Thanks for the advice, I will definitely be trying it. Very true about the lack of Australian experience. But the other day, someone was telling me that the lack of WA experience is just a convenient excuse. Unless and until you find some one to provide you with a referral, its almost impossible to land up with a job here in WA.
  11. Yes. I have even customized the cover letter according to the hints provided in the Seek.
  12. Do I need to obtain release letter for travelling back to my home country as well?
