    Toowoomba

  2. Thanks ! I will check out Varsity Lakes and the catchment area :-)
  3. Hi my names is Jane . my family ( husband and two boys aged 8& 11) and I moved to Toowoomba from Yorkshire August last year. But we are about to be relocated to the Gold Coast with my husbands work. Although we head to the Gold Coast most weekends, we are also trying to find the best state primary schools on the Gold Coast too. We were probably looking at north side of the Gold Coast. Labrador, biggera waters etc. I would love to hear any info you find out about the areas that are best for families. We believe you can never make enough new friends. And we know how big a move it is! So please don't hesitate to get in touch. We definitely don't have any regrets. Australia is a fantastic place to bring children up :-) Good look with the move.
  4. Hi can anyone tell me which is the best state primary schools on the Gold Coast please. And which is the best areas for families? We have two sons aged 8 & 11 & we will be moving from Toowoomba to the Gold coast late November. We moved over from the Uk last year and have loved living in Toowoomba , it is great for families and found the Glenvale state primary school was an excellent choice. However due to my husbands job been relocated to south of Brisbane we have decided to move to the Gold Coast. We would appreciate any advice on the best areas for families. We were thinking of the labrador, biggera waters area. As these are on the north side of the Gold Coast. But we are open to any advice as we want to get this move right and don't want to keep moving the boys around. Jane
  5. Yes the Christmas lights in queens park are spectacular. They had a great community presence. My boys loved them last year. It was our first xmas in the sunshine, and the lights made it feel more like a British xmas :-) The Garden Town shops closed it doors last Thursday , ready for the new plans. Which will connect the garden town shopping centre to the grand central but I believe the update is going to take two years to complete. Im sure it will be great for Toowoomba once completed. It is definitely a growing city and will bring lots of job opportunity's with all the new developments taking place.
  6. Hi we are a family of 4. We have two boys 7&10 . And we think Toowoomba is great for family's. Even though it's a city it has more of a town feel to it. We live in The Glenvale suburb. As we wanted to send the boys to Glenvale state school. There is plenty to do and traveling from one side of the city to the other only takes 20 mins. So you are never too far away from shops etc.. The Parks are great here , so many to choose from. Queens park is the main one. And always has events going on. hope this is a bit helpfull. jane
  7. Hi hope you are enjoying life in Toowoomba. We (Myself , husband and our two boys aged 7 & 10) We moved here a year ago from Yorkshire after my husband got a job here. We are loving life in Oz! Toowoomba is great for family life. The cold weather shocked me though, I wasn't prepared for the bitterly winds haha. jane
  8. Hi I have recently moved to Toowoomba and I'am trying to find clubs that is suitable for my two boys to join. They are aged 10 & 7 . I want to help them settle here and make new friends while keeping them occupied as we can get them into school until November. Especially my 10 year old as he is quite happy to stay sat inside on his play station . I'm looking for any sort of clubs or activities to help get them to meet new friends here in Toowoomba.

    visa help

Hi thanks for quick responce. yes he went on an four year employer sponsored visa. we had been living together for three month when he moved to Oz. We have been together for more than a year. The children are mine from previous relationship. Which Iam about to go to final court hearing to see if I can move them from uk to live in australia. Fingers crossed will all work out. I wanted to know which visa Iam best applying for. As I have also looked into getting a visa of my own for hairdressing as I have Nvq level 3 & 18 years experience. Only thing with this is I would need to find hairdressing job before I moved. Which is hard as ones I did find wanted imediate start. Thats why I was considering to be added on to my partners visa.
