  1. Send an email request to your case officer that you are withdrawing your application or phone immi. Try not to get your application rejected. No one can tell the time frame nowadays =c
  2. as long as the nomination is still valid which is 6mo. from approval date, it is fine. i hope you get the result by then. good luck!
  3. You don't have to take the test again if this is the case. There will just be a tiny possibility that CO's would ask you to re-take IELTS.
  4. Hi Llee1234, It was a different CO. I was caught up with the july '12 changes. The nomination was based on the old system and was assessed by a different group of CO. I actually tried to convince her to process my visa application but she declined. It wasn't decision ready. I was told the same thing while I was waiting for my Nomination approval. They said the 6mo. processing timeframe is separate for the nomination and visa approval. It took my Nomination 11mo. to get approved and my 1st visa application 5mo. from lodging ...only to get withdrawn and $3k gone. =x There's a big probability that the CO who assess your nomination will also be the one assessing your visa application. It would be ideal to send her an email just to inform her your TRN for the visa application and wait if the tides are on your side. Good luck!!! =D
  5. Hi Llee1234, Did you mean you lodged your visa 21st June 2013? My visa is approved. I was only lucky that the CO who advised me to withdraw my first application considered processing my 2nd visa application when I sent her an email. If not, my new application would be placed at the bottom of the pile and wait six months before I can start following up my application. I've been on a 457visa for the past three years and it might had helped expedite the process verifying documents. 187 NOM lodged: 19-Feb-12 187 VISA lodged: 27-Nov-12 187 NOM Approved: 20-Dec-12 187 VISA withdrawn: 10-May-13 IELTS Exam: 25-May-13 IELTS Result: 07-Jun-13 187 VISA lodged: 07-Jun-13 187 VISA Approved: 13-Jun-13
  6. There were visa applicants who got the nomination and visa approval on the same day which is a good thing as you don't have to wait longer. Goodluck!
  7. Better lodge a visa application before July 1st as the new visa charges could make your VAF doubled!
  8. You can send an email to the processing centre about your situation and the least they can do is issue you a bridging visa whilst your application is pending.
  9. I'm from a 457 visa and one of the conditions is "not engage in work for another person or for them self whilst working for the sponsoring employer". The 187 doesn't have this condition, so it should be fine to have an extra job as long as it's not conflicting with the main employers interests. Your employer might forward a complain to immi against you.
  10. Hi Kayes49, I applied at melbourne immi. You can do follow up emails to the CO ...just be careful not to be 'pushy'.
  11. Hi All, Got my visa approval today. I lodged a new application last friday, as soon as I got my hands on the IELTS certificate which I didn't provide the first time and the reason I had withdrawn my visa application. I then informed the Case officer that I lodged a new application and hoping this time she wouldn't find any more reason to reject my application. Prayers answered. =D
  12. Finally, after 2nd attempt I received the visa grant letter today! =D It is under Melb processing centre.
  13. That's right blossom, I should have asked my employer to re-apply nomination and just lodged my PR visa under the transition scheme. I was only advised by immi to lodge the visa as direct entry since my nomination was for the old visa. I didn't realise they will not honour my +2yrs stay as 457. :frown:
  14. @LF Appreciate your kind words. I'll have to confirm on Monday if I don't have to pay again for the new application if I withdraw my rsms application. I'll be resetting my timer to day 0 again. waaaaaa, I'm going crazy at the moment!!! :jiggy: @Blossom79 I thought those rules doesn't apply to me and that my case is considered transition stream since I've been under 457 for morethan two years and the only reason I'm instructed to apply under direct entry stream is because my nomination was for the old type of RSMS visa. Lessons learnt the hardway. =x
