  1. and also simple kitchen utensils can be expensive, I regret leaving my jamie oliver spud peeler! my look out on my next op shop trek!!
  2. good mouth wash, chocolate, duty free alcohol, Asda sandals, a good fitting bikini and mascara. If you have kids, sachets of ibuprofen or paracetomol, they only have dissoluble here. The op shops are very good here.
  3. we had quotes from both companies, we went with UKforx in the end as they didn't keep texting and bothering us when we already had a lot to sort out. Very easy transfer via phone; bit scary when transferring large amounts but worked for us,
  4. we have just arrived in oz, and to be honest there are so many things to sort out the child trust trust funds have been the last think on my mind!!I know they are important, we changed the correspondance address to grandparents In the uk. The big things I suggest to sort are TRN, Medicare, bank accounts, oz driving license (everyone asks for it), we are in Warnbro if you need any help, Jen xx
  5. I would just like to say a huge thank you to everyone on this site who has helped us with the biggest move of our life. We started of very humbly with a daft ideas of oz being the land of dreams and what ifs, took the plunge and went to a 'down under' event after watching all the shows!! Well what a journey since then, every emotion possible and now we are finally here. without this site we would not have made it, the info has been invaluable, thank you so much, Jen and family x

  9. Hi all, movecube came today to check out access to road! Having a complete breakdown!, must have packed boxes at least 7 times, can anyone reassure me and give me a list of what they took with them. We are going in furnished rented, not taking any furniture with us as nothing we had was of any value. So far I have lots of photos of kids, wedding dress, books, etc, mainly sentimental things I could never replace, oh and my one luxury, my juicer machine!! What has everyone else packed? Thanks , jen
  10. We spoke to lots of people and all everyone said was stay away from 457 if you have kids, why not try your bets on a 190 or 189 visa if your husband has the skills? Good luck what ever you do.
  11. Thanks for all your replies, think I am just panicking about everything now!!:chatterbox:
