  1. Probably working on the 170 other 457 applications that get lodged every working day. Sent from my SM-G925I using Tapatalk
  2. Wrussell is an MA and what he said is correct. Sent from my SM-G925I using Tapatalk
  3. Ok..I should say that I didn't need one for mine. I simply had to supply the qualifications and experience level that was deemed necessary for the nominated skill. Perhaps someone else can confirm. Sent from my SM-G925I using Tapatalk
  4. No, you do not. Sent from my SM-G925I using Tapatalk
  5. Yeah, that's Brisbane Seriously though, it's unhelpful when a prospective economic migrant asks a (albeit pointless) question about job prospects and is met by a wholesale response based only on one person's narrow experience. I've said this before, the IT market is actually hundreds of markets, some of which are good and some are less good. If you are a particularly desirable prospect then you will find work even in a poor market. But then I guess those people will be doing proper research and contacting agents are recruiters rather than just asking on here and being met with the usual list of sob stories. Remember, the vast majority of IT workers are employed.
  6. Hi Mr mortgage company: 1) can we take out a BTL mortgage - NO 2) er..ok..can we have permission to let out the house on the current mortgage - NO 3) can we change to interest only - NO Okie dokie then, I'm posting the keys back. That's pretty much what happened when I moved over. And what do you know, a week later we got permission to let out the house for a 200 quid 'admin fee'.
  7. I admire your dedication to make the move Racmac...you must be pretty keen!
  8. Whether or not you're paid in the UK doesn't matter, you still need a visa that allows you to work. Best option si 457, second best is working holiday (I say second best because it's always a good idea to keep the WHV in the bag for a rainy day).
  9. Yeah, I have a friend who would currently benefit from such a lifeline that for a similar reason to yours isn't available and she very much wishes it was.
  10. If they make that change, it would be well overdue.
  11. Yeah, loads of providers let you do that, depending on the type of connection you buy. If you're in an NBN area, that's first choice. TPG / dodo were about the only one with unlimited downloads though - and they are the two bargain basement providers (but are mostly fine). iinet is better, and some of their plans have very high limts. No NBN, then either ADSL or cable. Adsl needs a phobe line to be active so you'll probably have to keep paying at least that bit of it and just switch the dsl on and off. Cable - you'll likely be contracted at least for the first period. Practically speaking, a cheap naked adsl service (a phone line is there, but not usable for calls) can be had for a little over $50 a month - so my choice would be get one of those on permanent basis and just suck it up.
  12. Bungo said you might be able to get the new role approved, but I'm pretty sure that the TRT scheme requires 2 years in the same role, that's what I meant by starting again.
  13. Then don't change job title then. New role & title means new visa. Sorry. Not my rules!
