  3. Hi Rolo Just take a statement from the UK bank with you just incase so you can prove you do have more cash if required, and enjoy the adventure Pete
  4. Yes I thought the same the crown rep was ver good and experienced the white rep didn't seem to know his stuff
  5. Hi cal totally agree, both crown and whites have the best reputation for having the least amount of claims through IYM and have both been operating for a long time, we dealt with a guy called Andrew healey from crown and had worked with them for over 20 years so knew his stuff. How did you get on with Garry's tools when shipping them I've got loads and not sure how to go abut insuring them was thinking of using IYM but if I was to list everything then I would need about 20 pages, I've got receipts for around 10g but realistically would have nearer 20g. Thought of taking pictures of them laid out on the drive it must have took me about 2 weeks to clean them all lol
  6. Hi all Ive had a quote from crown and whites both for a 20ft container from Lancashire to Perth, difference in price £1300 crown do pay aquis fees roughly £300 so still £1000 adrift ? Can anyone who has used whites give me any feed back it does state on there quote they do not pay duties, taxes, import transaction fee can anyone advise me on this as to what to expect at the other end I may ave to pay these with crown to ill have to look back over the quote. I've still got PSS and Pickford's coming around at the end of the month, I've heard good things about crown but unfortunately they are quite a lot more any advise greatly appreciated. Thanks Pete
  7. For my AQF111 I used a company called Australian Skill assessments, they are an Australian firm based in Bedfordshire Uk, you would have to fill out an Assesment to see if your skills would qualify, then send in all papers for your past experience which would include references from past employers, then have an online interview through Skype which would cost in the region of £1500 then a further £500 for the vetasses Assesment via pathway 2 which isn't a full Assesment due to you already having the AQF. You can do a full Assesment through vetasses which would cost slightly less but you don't get a formal qualification at the end of it. If you need any further advise them PM me and I would be glad to help if possible. Pete
  8. Hi jamie You can get your skills assesed by vetasses who is the governing body over our trade, i did an AQF level 111 in metal fabrication which is there equivelant to an NVQ then went on to have my skills assesed by vetasses throughthe pathway 2 option as i had already gained an australian qualification, plus having the AQF111 you would probably find it much easier to get a job once in OZ best thing would be have a look on vetasses web site and look at the best options for your self or if you got the cash get yourself a migration agent on the case. Good Luck Pete
  9. Hi my visa category must have been different to collage girl as my CO requested my medical s and police checks, then after a couple of months I contacted her to ask how things were going and she replied by saying my hole family s medical s were not showing on the system and to go back to the panel doctor and check they had been sent through, which i did and it was the CO not using the correct information to locate them? I'm just offering advise based upon my experience as I wouldn't want anyone to waste any time for the sake of an email. Good luck to all those still waiting especially those 4 months + it's a very stressful time for you all  Pete
  10. Hi collage girl. Id contact your CO just to let them know you have done your medical s, I did after 2 months and they had been lost in the system so I'd do it sooner rather than later good luck. Pete
  11. Hi My time line also at the bottom of the page
  12. Hi Vanessa I have a medical condition that I would consider more of an impact to the Australian health service and I'm the main applicant and passed with no issues, it takes time for them to asses your situation but stay confident you will get there soon :-) Pete

  14. Hi all just looking for a little advice on the above, my son will want to take his clubs and will not want to wait for the 3-4 month delay until the ship rols in. He currently play 2-3 times a week of a handicap of 5 so a very keen player, was just looking for advice on how to pack the clubs extra insurance etc. Any advice greatly appreciated. Cheers Pete
  15. Hi medicals are graded A = ok. B = refered. B grade medicals are normally when you have a medical history, this could be something as minor as astma or a condition from years ago or something you are still taking medication for now. BUT Sometimes even A grade medical s are refered with not previous history and no one really knows why. Then if they get refered they go through to Global Health for extra investigation, my personal opinion is that you would have to have had something seriously wrong with you to actually fail the medical, but if they get refered be prepared foe a long wait mine took around 11 weeks which is middle of the road some take less some longer its just total luck of the draw really. Pete
