  1. is there an option of a visa for them if they are not retired? would this be dependant on their skills?
  2. bungo im their only child. the visa costs $50,000 each. that's crazy
  3. hey folks, been a long time. looking for advice for my parents, there both in their 60s and want to come and retire here in Brisbane to be with their only grandchild. I see some visas on the immi site that come in around the 6000 quid mark per person. has anyone tried these? are they painful to get? how long did the application take? thanks in advance folks. Gordon
  4. hiya lilly, let me know of prices and i will see what i can do for you down here in brisbane, Gordon
  5. this is only my advice, if you like it good, if you dont big deal. in my experience im rite,
  6. seems only yesterday i was sitting in the house in the uk filling in the 457 visa application dreaming of sunny beaches. well im here in brisbane and well oz has been what i expected with one difference, its dam expensive. is that a problem? no because im happy to do overtime and earn more money.......problem lies in the restrictions of the 457 sponsored visa. you can not take on extra shifts outwith the place of work that sponsors you. c r a p....... so before i delve into the depression of dealing with the immigration people again im going to ask on here for advice. what is the best PR visa for me as a mental health nurse. does anyone have a list of the forms i will need. heads bursting already. Gordon
  7. hi everyone. DONT COME TO OZ ON A 457. they are so restrictive. take an extra few weeks or months to get the PR visa then come. TRUST ME.
  8. the tribecca appartments on boundary street. if your calling them tell them the loch ness monsters dad told you to book them and if its available ask for the room on the top floor, number 4. awsome appartment. they guy in reception saved me about $8000 with his advice. the pool is ok but the hot tub is fantastic.

  10. davidson4 sorry, strictly no dundee utd fans allowed. look forward to seeing yous all there. i think we are going to the south bank in the morning so we will just walk round about 12.
  11. i must admit i have only found 1 person in australia to have been rude and after my tirade on him afterwards im sure he now feels all scottish people are rude. he was particularly rude to my daughter who is 5 and well you just dont do that. this man was an aboriginal fellow and his behaviour was so disgusting i wont describe it. other wise everyone else has been fantastic, we have been in the street 2 weeks, and been invited to parties, film shows, several community events and one neighbor came to the door with a bike for my daughter because she hasn't any toys yet. so kind.
  12. Good stuff, I think there is parking tho not sure how much it is, we might go to the south side in the morning with The little one. If we all ware something that would tie us to the uk I'm sure we will be fine, football tops or so on sounds good
  13. We will be there, looking forward to meeting yous, anyone else who can make it please do come along even for a short time, one thing I have noticed about this country is that networking is very important both in personal and professional life. It would be good to build a network of friends
