Hi, I'm coming over to Sydney soon to start a new job and hoping to find a good stables where I can have a few lessons and hack out. I would LOVE to have my own horse or horse share at some point once I'm settled. Can anyone recommend a good place to go around the Sydney area? I will be living somewhere in the Western Suburbs once I've found somewhere more permanent to live. I love riding but have never really been part of the 'horsey' set in England.. I'm not massively bothered about jumping or competing, I just want to ensure a nice ride out in the countryside with a few gallops along the way. Hi Lexi, I recently got offered a job with sponsorship (the company was already set up to do this) and it took about a week for them to get confirmation that my nomination had been approved. I then submitted my part of the application with as much info as I could provide and it got approved in 3 working days. I didn't have to have a medical or a police check but I guess it depends on what job you will be doing and whether you have any pre existing conditions. Good luck!! I was also impatient and wondered how long it would take and was pleasantly surprised to get the authorisation so quickly. I would keep logging on to check as I found it had been approved online a couple of days before I got the confirmation email. What job are you doing and where are you going? We are going to Sydney and I leave a week tomorrow - I only got the job 4 weeks ago, am not sure whether to be nervous or excited!! It's certainly been a bit stressful getting everything sorted Sarah x

Hi, I am moving to Sydney on 8th Oct and will need a car to get me to work when I start on 15th. I'd like to avoid hiring a car long term and am hoping to sort one one to buy soon after I arrive. Please let me know if you or anyone you know is selling a car - I'm looking for a small / medium hatch for around $7,000 - like a holden astra, toyota echo, volkswagen polo; or something similar. Hello all, Well, 6 years after we left Oz (had a working holiday visa) my wife and I have just found out we are going back. It has all happened in the last 2 weeks so its a bit of a shock. A job came up, my wife applied and was selected so its Sydney for us! We both cant wait and just have the small matter of selling our house, our cars, sorting out the cats and storing our furniture to organise :arghh:!!! We have already been scourting this site for bits of information on what to do and what not to do so I am sure we will be continuing this for the forseeable future. :biggrin:
