Hi, we should (fingers crossed) be moving to Melbourne within the next few months and my daughter is 15 also. What part are you thinking of living? It's all a bit scary but very exciting! What brilliant information Fioooooona!!!

We are so looking forward to it, but really sad as we have to leave our dogs behind and have been told its quite difficult to find rented accommodation that accepts pets

We are planning on moving to Mt Martha late November if all goes to plan, I have heard it is quite a nice place to live. We have a 13 yr old daughter and 12yr old son...and its by the beach yippeee!

I thought we would be ok originally, but then I've read that some people cant live on $150000! Just need to work out where to live now, my brain is aching :confused:......and I forgot I must have a wine fund too lol

Maybe I did'nt explain properly...we are flying out saturday 24th and return flight on friday 30th......its gonna be a squeeze I know, but I want to see where we will be moving too as its a huge decision.

we are moving to melbourne also, with company car and fuel....but we are bringing with us 2 children and a mother! I'm going through the same...where to live, how much its going to cost..my head is spinning. Going out next saturday for 4 days to see how we like it and take a look around, then hubby goes over late October for a few months before we follow....I don't know whether I am excited or scared..bit of both I guess :laugh:

My hubby has been offered a job working in Melbourne, $130000, with car and personal fuel paid. We are a family of 4 and in the UK he currently is earning around £40000. He communtes an hour to work and back every day and this is killing us with the cost of fuel, and we are really struggling :wacko: ........ does this sound like a good wage or will we be struggling in Oz too (based on the fact we get a car and fuel that should cut the outgoings back substantially I hope) We are not looking to live in the city, but about an hours drive away, hopefully this will reduce the cost of renting?? Can anybody give me an idea of how much rent we could afford given our circumstances...my head is going round and round...:eek: Also my mother will be coming over, so that makes a family of 5 altogether!
