  1. Thanks all, I wanted to include him at the time I applied for my visa was he wasn't dependant on me as he had a student grant which paid for tuition and accomadation. But at the time he didn't want to come and live in Aus either. Unfortunately it's too late to do regional work as the WHV is up in December, which is annoying as they have live regional with us for 6 months prior to our move to Brisbane! But they didn't work at that point....he has realised (staying in Sydney atm) that he wants to stay, but a little late. On the bright note, he and his gf both have a degree and one of them is on the sol so if they are keen enough they can go through the visa process or get a sponsor. I have told them to start looking for a sponsor till they leave....at least it's a chance. Thanks for all the great advice as always
  2. Yeah he does have an occupation on the skills list. Hhmmm thanks. lol it doesn't get any easier does it!! But your advice has got me on the right track..thanks Blossom
  3. Ok, thank you, he has a degree in Buisness and finacial management so I guess I need to look if he's on that. He hasn't done any post grad work yet as they came out after graduating. I will have a look thanks so much
  4. Hi, I have a permenant visa and have been living in Australia for nearly 2 n half years. At the time when getting my Visa my son was at Uni and didn't want to live here but he has been here for a year on a working holiday visa and is thinking he'd like to make the move permanently. Has Graduated from university last October. Does anyone know if I can sponsor him? He has a long term girlfriend who is also here with is atm and would be part of the deal lol. It's been too long since I went through the Visa process and can't seem to find an answer on line. if anyone has gone through/going through this or can help with advice, I would be very greatful. Thanks in advance
  5. Hi, yes I think they are a very good alternative, my friend has one at her house. I will look into this a little more, I'm just worried it won't last as long as fibreglass.
  6. I looked into it a bit but it's not for us, thanks for the advice
  7. I need a fibreglass pool as it requires a lot less chemicals as I have super sensitive skin and cannot go into heaviy chemical pools, and I guess I don't want a pool liner pool. Thanks for the advice. I will make sure my pool has a good quality shell.
  8. Ok, I was going to use Freedom pools as one of the quotes but can't find anything good about them on line...lots of bad reviews.... It's a mine field. thanks for the advice
  9. Hmmm ok that's good you warned me, I will give them a wide birth, it's seems easy to spend a lot of money and get a bad job! That's what iv heard from a few people hence I am on here asking personal views. It's too much money to have wasted or be disappointed. Thanks for for the rely, much appreciated
  10. Thank you Tink, that's great advice, these little questions can be invaluable. I will make a note of the filtration point. Thanks x
  11. Thanks Tink, I will look into these. I have very sensitive skin and with fibreglass saltwater pools, very little chemicals are needed compared to concreate so that suits me better or else I won't be able to go in.
  12. Yeah thanks, I was thinking of using them for one of the quotes but need 3 and would really love personal recommendations as its a mine field. thanks for the reply.
  13. Hi, we've not long moved to the Brisbane area (North side) and are looking to put a fibreglass pool in our new house. Can anyone recommend and good, reliable pool builders please. I need to get 3 quotes and I'm just not sure. Any other advice relating to this is also welcome. thanks in advance :notworthy:
  14. Hi, are you going to live in Gladstone? Have you considered boyne Island or Tannum sands? Excellent schools there along with great quality of life. Far nicer in Boyne/Tannum IMHO. Let me know if you need any more info as iv lived here for 2 years.
  15. Thanks Sioban for the reply, I was really wondering if OH should drive to Ferny Grove station or Strathpine, which would be quicker around 7am as we've been told go to strathpine station but that it here seems no point driving north for then to go south. Thanks anyway. I guess well just have to give it a go.
