  1. Hi, We are in Aubin Grove and love it too! I've got 2 boys, one is in Aubin Grove Primary and the other just finished there and has moved on to Atwell College. The Primary is awesome and has a great reputation, really has helped my two! Atwell College has a bad rap amongst folk from other suburbs but so far it seems OK! The amenities have been covered already in this post (I to would recommend the quarry, and I have further to stumble home). Commuting could be a pig if you are not taking the train, or can't use a back road. I leave at 6am and won't use the Freeway as its starting to get busy around then. Unfortunately due to a rental agency getting greedy we're on the lookout for a new rental, Here, Hammond Park and Atwell are my main targets so I must like it!! Good luck!
  2. Excellent, thanks, I have to phone them on Monday anyway so I'll make a start on that then. Cheers!!
  3. The Agency seem to be backing off a bit! Got told today that they were going to put it on hold and discuss with the dept of commerce! Seems the threat of Legal advice has got them worried!!
  4. We did agree to the Bill remaining in the Landlords name, but I was under the impression we would only be pating if there was a net due amount (or an 'out of pocket' expense). Not paying for the Electricity generated by the panels which I am already paying for through the rent!
  5. I have a copy of the Bill! Generated $770 worth of Electricity! Used $710 worth of Electricity. Rebate (paid to Landlord) $60 Their Argument is that I have Used the 710 so I have to pay it. My Argument is that I'm Renting the Panels as well as the house so I am entitled to the Electricity Generated (although I have agreed that the Landlord can keep the rebate).
  6. We checked against other houses in the area last week, the closest we can find in the same Suburb is $60 a week less rent than our house! The cheaper one has a pool and we don't so I reckon I'm paying for the panels through that! If the landlord is getting that and $500 extra every two months I'll be paying for his panels outright in the first year!
  7. Had a bit more info today, the Landlord is adamant he wants paid for it, however i Phoned the Department of Commerce and spoke to a legal expert at work. Apparently the only thing that a Landlord can bill me for is 'out of pocket' expenses! Which this is clearly not! I've asked the Agency to write to me stating that I have to pay for the electricity used, and ignore the solar panels on the roof! When they asked why, I told them its so when I take my legal advice I have what they want in writing! They went a bit quiet after that.
  8. I can see it too, but from my point of view I'm paying over the odds for my rent to subsidise the panels. As far I can see it I'm renting the panels too! There is also nothing in the agreement to say I need to keep them switched on!!
  9. Nope, we have generated more than we used, So He gets $700 from me for the electricity I have used, AND he gets the $100 back from synergy! He gets $800 in his back pocket just for having bought himself Panels before he decided to move out!
  10. Nah we're not saving anything as the Landlord is taking money from me for ALL the electricity used, and getting the money back from Synergy for the Electricity Generated! Win-win for him!!
  11. I can't remember if it was advertised as with solar, but I definitely knew they were there when we signed up! The exact Phrase, hand written on the contract is... Electricity account to stay in owners name but tenant agrees to pay Bill. Now to me this statement is ambiguous enough that its for us to pay a BILL, not on a statement. And as far as I can remember that is what we agreed to, not the landlord taking $700 from me as well as getting $100 from synergy!
  12. Hi Folks, I'm looking for some advice! We're renting in Perth. I agreed at the start that the Landlord could keep the Electricity in his name and I would pay the Bills as there are 30 Solar Panels on the roof of the house. I took this to mean that if there WAS a Bill (i.e we used more Electricity than we generated) then I would pay that amount, and if there was a credit amount (we generated more than we used) the landlord would keep the credit amount. All fair enough I thought as he did install the panels. I've just had an argument with the Rental Agency and the REIWA advice line, they are expecting me to pay the landlord for the electricity I have used, as well as Synergy paying him for the electricity generated on MY roof! I honestly feel like I'm being ripped off for the Electricity as I chose this house because it had solar, I'm paying about $50 a week more rent than any other house in this area, I believed because of the solar panels! Has anybody come across this before? Any advice would be welcome!
  13. Hi folks, just a quick one if anybody knows if I can watch this game in a pub somewhere? I can stream it through the club website but could do with better quality and atmosphere! It doesn't show up on Foxtel or Setanta's websites! Its the Aberdeen v Hibs one on Saturday not the Celtic v Jambos on Sun!! I'm in Aubin Grove!
  14. I just looked up the crime statistics for 2010, not easy to make comparisons as its not a per head of residents percentage so you have to take the size of the suburb into account. 63 Burglaries (or attempted) in 2011. for what seems like a small suburb does seem high! However I spoke to my neighbours about it and they were not aware of any burglaries in the area! I should maybe try to figure out how to work the alarm!!
