  2. Thanks, I hope I'm this lucky:hug:
  3. Hi All I am arriving in Sydney for a month's work, does anyone know if there are any central guest houses/ hotels that are a reasonable price? Thanks in advance, Deano
  4. Hi Guys It took me a couple of years to find one over here and cost me more to ship it to Qld than it cost. There are plans on the web if your handy at making them or know a joiner. I looked at buying a new one from the UK, depending on your budget, the shipping was not much more than I paid from Melbourne. Good luck keep looking
  5. Hi all Our company is looking to take on a couple of new apprentices, so if you know of any wanting a chance PM me with the contact details. The apprenticeships will be in the construction industry and will be based on the Sunshine Coast. There is a fair amount of traveling involved so own transport would be an advantage. Thanks Dean
  6. Hi All Plasterers and carpenters needed with dry wall experience, immediate start in the city. Must have tools and a willingness to work plenty of hours. PM me with your email and number and I'll contact you back. Thanks Dean
  7. Just had new paint, ready for sailing. Comes complete with alloy and wooden masts, spinnaker, oars, anchor etc. On trailer ready to go, Queensland pick up. Please call Dean on 0422 022 692 or PM for more details $950.
  8. Afraid not, but you shouldn't have any problems getting a skilled visa. Good luck.
  9. Tilers normally do the small work and concrete workers do the rest as far as I am aware, I'm sure someone will be able to give you more advise.
  10. G,day We have a job starting in Brisbane and will be employing experienced solid and fibrous plasterers. If you know of anyone who may need employment then PM me or contact dean@suncoastinteriors.com.au for more details, they must already be in the Brisbane area and hold permanent residency or citizenship. Please leave your contact details for a reply.
  11. We are in Caloundra, what do you need to know?
  12. Jamie, it depends on where you are wanting to move to; in Qld you need a licence for contracting work so a cert III is essential. You can work for a licenced chippy until you get your cert III which will also get you a referance and experiance how they work here as it differs to the UK. You will have to know about the Building codes of AU and AU standards, this may be a little tricky from the UK and I have not heard of anybody getting the cert abroad. Correct me if anyone has had RPL from overseas. The other states have different rules and the regions up here have different cyclone ratings which builders from southern states have to recap their knowledge. I hope this helps
  13. It has plenty of hills and a couple of the low lying bridges go under, I work there and have not been stuck. The main roads are usually clear and I haven't heard of any housing being flooded.
  14. Nice to know that things don't change in eight years. We moved with a buyer showing up a week before we left, that meant midnight phone calls to the solicitor for three months until the sale went through. It is worth it in the logn run. Good luck with everything.
  15. Moving to Melboure is right, you can go through the RPL process. In Queensland there is funding to help and it will cost about $500, a little cheaper than you have been quoted!
