Thank you, regards Jodie.</p></p>

  3. great. the duty excise says travellers together can pool items to limits, so unsure whether bringing a 50g pack each would be viable. don't smoke much its just in case. maybe easier to just buy a pack of smokes if I run out.
  4. Hi **pls move post to other forum if best suited elsewhere sorry I couldn't find a better one I am visiting Perth and Brisbane in a few weeks and I am bringing 50g Golden Virginia rolling tobacco. I wondered: A. whats the best equivalent to GV in Aus, would it be Drum? B. Could my partner carry a 50g pouch for me as cheaper then effectively I have 2 x 50g GV? C. whats the law on smoking in Aus outside, ie outside restaurants/bars, in street, in a car? D. whats the equivalent cost as 50g of GV here in the UK is £18.50 Thanks in advance ps. heard all the comments before re should not smoke etc.
  5. <p><p>hi there sporty.well done on your IELTS.</p></p>

  6. totally agree that researching australia in this day and age of technology helps! surely if they had done the research they wouldnt have "wasted" a visa someone else who is still waiting, had done there research and cant wait to get there could have had! :arghh:before we went to aus on a whv back in 2008 we did so much research, and when we are planning our return for a holiday this summer are doing the same. as well as constantly checking for changes in visa, cost of living, wages etc for when I graduate as a nurse! our whv was tough due to one of us being diagnosed and treated for it over there (all clear thanks to fantastic medicare and medical professionals) but never once did we moan about cost of living, living off one wage, etc etc and what the hell can you spend $100k on in a month?? that was double my salary in a year as a teacher!!! rant over!!! saf xx ps if you miss jaffa cakes so much - aldi do similar ones!!
  7. <p>ahh great. huge thanks. if he searches for my email <a href="mailto:krestsaf69@yahoo.co.uk" rel="">krestsaf69@yahoo.co.uk</a> he should find me, if not the name is kate harding, or saffy darling who is my partner. be great to chat to him. hope to be living the dream too as soon as. x</p>

  8. Hi there Becky Hope your GCSE's are over and you can now start to enjoy the summer! Wishing you and your family all the best in Brisbane, you will love it! I was an A Level and College lecturer in the UK. I went to Brisbane to teach here http://www.ef.com.ly/master/ia/destinations/ap/BRS/index.asp They offer something called the International Baccalaureate which is accepted by universities all over the world. They may even now do A level subjects there. Plus you will be surrounded by students from all over the world etc and have a more multicultural education. Please send the school a message and ask them. I am sure the Principal is from the UK and will be able to answer any queries you may have. Alternatively, have you thought what you would like to study at University? As maybe a TAFE (Further Education College) may be able to offer you vocational training etc http://www.southbank.edu.au/site/programs/pathways/index.asp They offer university pathways and credits think like a National Diploma etc to then get you into university etc or study to a certain level at TAFE then go onto university. Will your parents be going on a Temporary or Permanent visa? as this may affect the amount you have to pay. :arghh: you would only do year 12 in australia at high school http://www.ourbrisbane.com/lifestyle/parenting-and-families/high-school ask me if you need any more help good luck with it all, x
  9. after all you have been through, glad to see their is a light at the end of the tunnel for you. thank you for sharing too, as gives us all hope that it is a case by case basis enjoy aus xxx :wubclub: ps what occupation list did you go for? were you main or secondary app?
  10. Inspirational Deborah de Williams who has inspired many, and has been inspired by many more has finally finished her world record of running around Australia with maggie her dog. together and with their team have raised more than $220,000 aud so far, but you can still donate to running pink! http://www.themercury.com.au/article/2011/05/07/227951_tasmania-news.html well done running pink xxx so proud of you all that supported her, ran with her and shared your breast cancer stories with her as she ran xxx:hug:
  11. try looking at Accommodation Services for granny flat or house shares if you want them be careful with scams where you go private and pay deposit only to have the person run off with it!! It has happened to past students and staff! Fake rental properties and shared accommodation listings esp on gumtree.com.au you will need to pass a 100 point check to open a bank account and or rent, you can do this and ensure you have everything needed by signing up for your Tax file number when you arrive and tick the following boxes... Opening a Bank Account in Australia quite an interesting site with information on tax file numbers and registering for medicare all important to get done early on as you wait for them to come!! FAQ's about Australia We lived in Yeronga (not far from the bridge over to UQ) as well as further north of the city in Teneriffe and Clayfield. The public transport system is amazing, get a Go Card bit like an Oyster Card in London top up and go! Cant wait to get back there, hope you both have an amazing time xxxx
  12. wishing her and you all the best, hope all goes well in the new year. father in law has nephrotic kidney syndrome, he hopes to eimigrate one day to be with his other daughter and grandson xx
