  1. Hi all, Not sure where to put this but does anyone know how the tax works when on a WHV and working? Just planning ahead and want to make sure I have all things covered. Thanks
  2. Thanks, I looked up a 2016 list and couldn't see it on there
  3. The only jobs I can find are child care centre managers, I can't find anything on group leader. I believe my qualification is a level 3 but it seems the only option is WHV.
  4. Thanks, I will have to look into it, do you have to have the experience in the job like you do for the other visas? As I have the qualifications in the UK but don't have the experience. Originally I wanted to go for atleast a year-2 years but looking to become more permanent but as I couldn't go on the other visas I was looking at just doing the WHV as it was all that seemed to be available to me to get over and work.
  5. Sorry to jump on this post but I am also looking at coming over next year and thought that the only visa I can have is the working holiday visa is this correct? I have a Cache Diploma Level 3 in Childcare and Education. As far as I could tell the WHV was the only one available to me as my occupation isn't on the lists but have now seen this post and unsure if I am correct.
  6. Thanks, I won't be applying for it just yet but didn't want to leave it really late and then have to wait for it to come through.
  7. Thanks, nope no criminal record! Do you know if I applied now whether it would be a year from approval or a year from entering Australia?
  8. Does anyone know the rough timeline to get a working holiday visa? I'm wanting to go next August/September and want to apply in enough time.
  9. Thanks, its the experience I fall down on. I've had a quick look at the ACECQA website and I looks like my qualification is a diploma in Queensland and a cert III in other areas from what I can gather so atleast I have a rough idea on what I'm looking at for a WHV.
  10. Thank you, my qualification I believe enables me to be a manager of a childcare setting but obviously I have no experience of this so I know I can't use that to get in. The working holiday was the only way I seemed to find too as nothing fit anywhere else.
  11. Thank you. I'm not too bothered about staying as a teaching assistant however because I am unsure what my qualification would be if anything I don't really know where I stand. All my previous experience is older children however my qualification means I could work with children from babies onwards.
  12. Hello, I'm sorry if you have all read posts like this previously but I'm after some advice and help. I have just returned from a 4 week holiday to Sydney staying with family and I'm now considering moving over if possible or staying for a year from next year. I'm totally confused by the different visas and I believe the only way I could do this is to do the working holiday visa but I'm not 100% sure if this is correct. I'm qualified to work in childcare here in the UK with the qualification CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education, I am unsure though whether this would even be recognized in Australia and I currently work at a primary school as a teaching assistant and have done so for the past 8 years however this doesn't seem to me like I could get in on this. Does anyone know how I would go about finding out if my qualification would be recognized or if I would have to retrain again. If anyone could help me out I would be truly grateful as it just seems a total minefield to me. Thanks
