Hey Guys! I decided to re-visit the thread and see what the updates were. Congratulations to all who have been granted their visas, and to those waiting, it'll be coming soon, be patient, although it wasn't my strong attribute either. In my case my wife was interviewed on the 10th of August and the visa was granted after 2 days!!, which does not seem to be the case with people who are applying online. Could paper based application be more efficient in case of AHC Islamabad?

My lodgement date was 01/03/16, and I was confused as to why they didnt call me, instead called my wife who is the sponsor, and the guy who called her was calling from Islamabad, and she is in Australia. Well lets see how long it takes from here....

Hey Guys, My wife who is the sponsor, received a detailed call today about our visa application, they asked her things like where and how we met, what were our marriage dates, what are our professions, etc. My wife answered all the questions and then she asked the guy what stage are we at, and he answered I cant give you a tentative time, but it shall take another two weeks to finalize. My question is that if anybody has been in the same situation, does it really take 2 weeks after a call to the sponsor, or will I get one call too? can any of the stat declaration people get a phone call too? Thanks

This is so sad Jawad Butt. I am confused as to how you could be Hepatitis B positive while giving the exam as your in no condition physically to move around. What I mean to say is that was the virus dormant or something? And do the AHC give you a second chance if something like this comes up? you could get your self fixed and get the medical done again. Anyways I wish you all the best in your future endeavors!

Hmmm... I guess I shall give them a call in Mid August to find out what the situation really is. What sort of questions should a person as on the telephone call? a few which came to my head were: 1. Has a CO been assigned to our case? if yes then can I speak to him / her? 2. Has the case been forwarded to someone in Australia? 3. has the sponsor status been verified?

If you want to know the status and you have applied paper based, what is the best method to contact AHC Islamabad? Phone or e-mail? and is it advised to visit the AHC physically with your partner to know the status? I applied on 1st March 2016, and it already seems like forever without my wife!

Guys I wanted to ask about my case in particular. I have applied for partner subclass 309 visa, and I had overstayed in the UK back in 2010 for about 6 weeks. It was a mistake, as I erroneously believed the visa expiry date to be later than it was, I got a letter from my college explaining the situation and exited the country. I mentioned this in my application, along with the letter from my college. Can this create a problem or delay my case?
