  1. For anyone booking with etihad promo code 5zl23j89 should give you 10% off 2016 flights. Booked 5 flights this month with code and seems to be consistent Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
  2. Hi folks I am keeping an eye out on gumtree and regular spots for used cars but thought I'd post here also. Arriving Sydney 30th may. Looking for good condition 5 door VW golf or ford focus 2007 onwards max budget $10k Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk

  4. If you don't mind me asking how much did the Australian transport side add up to. We are moving to Sydney and had thought about maybe driving to Melbourne to pick them up if they allow you to do that. I know it's one hell of a drive but was thinking of a bit of a road trip as a long weekend or week away. Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
  5. Again thanks for the advice. Taking it all on board. Will be landing in Sydney in the next 5-6 weeks but have delayed family arriving until early July so I can try and get a rental sorted as we have 2 year old twins and a new baby due in august so thought it was important for them to get settled as quick as possible before new baby arrives. Having them living in temp accommodation and dragging kids and pregnant wife around to viewings does not seem realistic or fair to me. Luckily my wife is trusting that I will find the right place Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
  6. Great. Thanks for your suggestion. I'll check it out. Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk

  10. Hi folks Received grant this morning. Over the moon. Limbo is a horrible thing. Nomination and visa submitted 01/03/2016 Nomination and visa approved 21/04/2016 No request for any additional info. Family of 4 from low risk country. I nearly feel guilty that I submitted after some on this post and have been granted earlier than them. But keep faith, your visas will come through. Good luck to everyone Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
  11. Sorry for the delayed response. I agree that looking at the crime map I have taken everything with a pinch of salt, hence why I am asking here. I had also been looking further north, north west of like baulkham hills and castle hill etc. What we would get for our budget is definitely appealing however after living in a large detached 4 bed back home I'm wondering would apartment living be more enjoyable for us, a bit of a change and less upkeep / expense to kit out, and night actually teach us to live a simpler lifestyle. My big concern is that what we love about Sydney is the river cats to get about and the eastern and northern beach areas. Would living that far out really remove us from a lot of that. And also most of our friends live inner west or east. Without wanting to turn this into another where to live in Sydney post (which I suppose I already have). What other areas would people suggest. Biggest thing that we would want would be friendly clean area. That we would feel at home and safe walking around with kids in tow. Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
  12. Hi folks As I go through the long wait on the visa side of things we have decided to research a bit on areas within Sydney in the hope that if the visa grant does come through we will have at least done a little bit of groundwork. We are a family of 4, soon to be 5. And although I love the areas around inner west (Chiswick, Canada bay, lane cove etc) and also northern suburbs such as mosman and further out towards the beaches I'm struggling to justify what we would get for our budget, and for the northern areas mentioned I'm sure there is nothing within budget. This has me looking a little further out from CBD which is where work will be for me. Ideally looking for a house or 3 bed apartment in a nice and safe area to bring up our kids. The reason paramatta is standing out is that I came across an interesting apartment development by PIA developers (25 north road I think) that looked nice and well within our budget. What are people's opinions on paramatta and surrounding suburbs and also the commute to CBD. I'm sure you might want more info, and as this is all new to us I'm sure I have left key info out so please do ask. Ideal budget 600-750 PW Upper limit if the spot is right 900 PW Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Hi folks Been following this thread for some time while my sponsor and their agent have been preparing application. Happy to say that nomination and application submitted today Will keep everyone updated with my progress, the agent has said average processing time of 4-6 weeks but I am prepared for a longer wait after reading experiences of others in this thread. Excited and Nervous at the same time. No reason for the nerves really as I am from low risk country (UK), and a straight forward application but we have been looking forward to this so much I just think it makes the wait that much harder. 14. Youngwombat thanks for chiming in. So it seems the info regarding medicals is correct. After speaking further to the employer the medical is for their own records due to the nature of the job they want to make sure that the applicant has a certain level of fitness, which I completely agree. And that no further medicals will be required unless requested during the application. Thanks again for your help Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
  15. Yes I am fully aware of all aspects of this visa. And almost all of the PR visas including those that I would be eligible for, and for what states. I have like most on this forum been researching this for several years. However we have not yet decided if we will make a permanent move or not. And I would also not consider moving without first having employment lined up which in my line of work is hard to come by. The 457 gives us a pathway that we are happy with and should we decide to look into a PR visa we will consider the options available to us at that time. Sent from my LG-D855 using Tapatalk
