I've come across another question about uploading the right documents for my 189 visa. They've asked for passport and birth certificate to be certified, as I'm outside of the UK, it says it should be a JOP equivalent or a migration agent. Will I get away with a solicitor? Surely that's good enough?

I've just had my request for all my documents a couple of days ago and have a few questions about some aspects, don't want to get this wrong!! 1) It says I have to respond within 28 days, does this mean a confirmation of receipt or contacting them once all my documents are up? 2) For the health checks, can I do these through my doctor or do I have to go somewhere specific? (I'm in London) 3) Do I email form 80 to them? I can't see where to upload it on my documents page. Last push, been an arduous process! Thanks in advance.

I received my invite a week after updating my EOI (yay!!), thank you for all your help. Do you know how long I can expect to wait to hear if I've been granted the 189 visa?

Hi Captain, I'm taking the Pearson English test to get myself to 70 points, code 241411. I submitted an EOI in November last year, however was too low on points. Once I've secured my 70, am I best to update the current EOI or cancel it and submit a whole new one? Thanks in advance, your help is much appreciated.

Thank you for the prompt response. Just to clarify, an IELTS or PTE would be worth me completing despite being a native English speaker (and would be valid points; seems an unusual way for a native English speaker to gain points?) to get me up to the required points?

I think I have made a mistake here, I have had my skills checked by the teaching authority and submitted an EOI however only got 50 points. Do I need to complete an English test even though I am a native English speaker from the UK just to rack up points? There was also not an option to register my postgraduate certificate as an extra year of study so I had to select 'other' in qualifications which impacted on my points. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. My nominated occupation: 241411
