We were granted our 4 year 457 visas on Monday 4th June. Which was exactly 15 weeks since we applied. We were advised by agent that it is a high risk application due to my husbands medical history and not to get our hopes up. We were not asked for any further info Husband is a carpenter. He was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Leukaemia in September 2012 and finished chemotherapy june 2015. He reached 5 year remission november 2017. This may give hope to others in a similar medical history position.

Via Agent Date applied19/2/18 acknowleged and asked for husband to have medical 19/2/18 medical 30/2/18 visas granted 04/06/18 15 weeks total husband carpenter

Hi, we are in the very early stages of our visa process but will be looking to come to Sydney. Husband is a qualified highly experienced carpenter with 19 years in the trade. Looking online it seems the carpentry jobs are plentiful at the moment. Kylee

The more I read about the health care costs etc the more Im confused about it all. Is anybody living out there with a similar situation to mine? Is there somewhere I can email for advice? Myself, my husband and our 2 daughters are in the early stages of applying for a skilled Permanent Resident Visa to emigrate from England to Sydney. Im reading lots of information online but want to be 100% sure on the health care side of things. My husband was diagnosed with Leukaemia in 2012. Treatment went well and he has been in remission 3 years, will be 4 years by the time we would emigrate. Would we be entitled to the standard Medicare? I wondered if Cancers had to be in remission a certain amount of time before they are no longer classed as pre-existing? Also for the near future he will be having 6-12 monthly check ups. Would this just continue under Medicare? We want to know we have all bases covered and what the costs could be. I hope those questions make sense.

Hi guys, My husband and I were very close to applying for the skilled migration visa back in 2012. husband is a carpenter. He was then diagnosed with Leukaemia. He reacted very well to treatment and in October was in remission. So this October he will have reached 3 years remission. We would still like to go but obviously need to check where we stand with his health. Has anybody successfully got their visa and been in a similar situation or do you know where I should be finding this out? Are there agents that specifically deal with this type of case?
