  1. Hiya! You're definitely doing the right thing looking in to it early. I did the same but I had to because of my age! It totally depends if you want to stay in Victoria or if you're happy to go elsewhere. I was being really picky because I wanted to be near Sydney, I ended up doing WWOOFing in Orange, met a local and have stayed to work here which I never thought would happen! WWOOFing is good if you have some money aside still as you won't get paid but you get food and board paid for. If you are only after paid work, it's best to do some research about what crops are harvested at what time of year, these pages are quite useful but there are plenty more like them if you do a google search - http://www.fruitpickingjobs.com.au/australian-harvest-and-crop-calender/ or http://www.fruitpicking.org/fruit-picking-essentials/crops-calendar . A lot of the time, a good thing to do would be to decide on a regional location based on the time of year and approach a working hostel, a lot of them will help you find work locally, but you will have to physically be there not just call them. Gumtree can also be good, but just be careful as I know people who have been scammed out of money looking for regional work on Gumtree. Good luck - and enjoy it! The time will fly by
