  1. Hello, Did anyone get an invite today? Doesn't look like they went out from other forum posts...
  2. Thanks, much appreciated, will do.
  3. Hello, I've been advised by another forum member that the IT quotas have been filled for QLD 190 visa. Does anyone know if this is a temporary thing or not ie is the quota for the year and they wont re-open again this year. Or its just for a month or two and they will open again? Just wondered if this has happened before or if anyone knows how it works. Many thanks
  4. That's brill, thanks for your help!
  5. Thanks Ric, No, we're not necessarily looking to live and work in Brisbane as family are further north. I will look into 489 visa as don't know much about it to be honest. Thanks for your help, much appreciated.
  6. Hi Ric, Thanks for your reply. Yes QLD is our only option as we have family there. As you can see by my timeline we've been waiting for a while on 189 and when QLD opened up my category I was over the moon but was away so unable to lodge an EOI until recently. Then noticed they have suspended applications! Anyway, my question is if they re-open, for example on 20th August, will they simply not consider anyone who have lodged between 1st Aug and 19th Aug? Or will they just work the backlog? Should I suspend my current EOI and reinstate when they open again or just leave it.... Thanks again
  7. Thanks for your reply, Is it possible to suspend my EOI and then reinstate when/if they re-open? Just to save me having to complete it all again! Will the skills select system reinstate it for the new date? Cheers
  8. Hello, I lodged an EOI for QLD 190 visa yesterday and then noticed today that they have suspended applications until further notice. Will my EOI just be put in a queue until it opens up again, or will I need to lodge another one once they re-open applications? how does it work? Many thanks
  9. Thanks Ric and George for your responses, it's good to get some clarity and options in what is a very confusing process! Best regards
  10. Thanks very much for your reply Richard, I am hoping to obtain a Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer certification which is named on the ACS 'Vendor Certifications' in the Skills Assessment Guidelines for Applicants The aim is to then be eligible for an additional 10 points under 'An award or qualification recognised by the assessing authority in the assessment of the skilled occupation' as per border.gov.au The thing that concerns me is this paragraph - from ACS skills assessment guidelines The Skill Level Requirement Met Date is dependent on the completion of both the relevantqualification and relevant work experience. If your work experience is completed before the completion date of your qualification, the Skill LevelRequirement Met Date will be determined by the earliest date that both the relevant work experienceand the qualification are completed. Its rather confusing as it implies they will move my skilled met date to when I complete the certification. As I would have to send my certificate off to ACS for another assessment to claim the points I'm concerned this will in turn lose me my experience points and put me in a worse position points wise. Your advice on this would be really appreciated. Many thanks
  11. Hello, I currently have a total of 60 points and have lodged my EOI 4th June 2015 - Systems Analyst 261112 Age - 25 Eng - 20 Exp - 15 - obtained through RPL (total of 16+ years work experience - skilled met date of Jan 2007) I see that certain vendor certifications are accepted by the ACS as comparable to graduate outcomes of anICT major at the AQF Diploma level. https://www.acs.org.au/__data/assets...Applicants.pdf And that depending on whether the certificate was considered closely related or NOT related - a certain number of years' work experience would be deducted. (5 or 6 years) https://www.acs.org.au/__data/assets...teria-2014.pdf My question is; If I were to obtain a vendor certification now (recognised by ACS) do I need the 5 or 6 years work experience required AFTER I obtain this certification? Or would my previous work experience still be considered? Basically, due to the current situation with my category, I am thinking about doing this to claim the additional qualification points. I would really appreciated some advice if anyone can offer. I'm starting to lose hope of getting an invitation with 60 points as cut off still 70. Many thanks
  12. Thanks for your reply, unfortunately I have no way of increasing my points and already have max points for English...I guess I'll just to have to wait. Its very frustrating to say the least! I just hope I eventually get an invite....
  13. Hi Captain C, What are your thoughts on my situation... Systems Analyst 261112 EOI 4th June 2015 60 points Thanks
