  1. Good afternoon all! My partner is currently on an electric visitor holiday visa, and she has to leave every 3 months to reactivate. She's been here 1 month already. Ultimately I'm looking to get her onto my 457 sponsored Visa, but we need to prove at least 6 months living together first. Until then, she's looking at getting onto a 572 study visa. Now, if she gets this, what's the likelyhood of her visa having conditions such as no travel (condition 8503) on there? Also, from a 572 study visa to a 457 visa, is it an easy experience? I.e, is she likely to be accepted? James
  2. Hi Folks, Has anyone had any experience with a Same-Sex 457 defacto visa? here's the facts; - We've been in long distance for 9 months and I've visited my partner in Taiwan. - I have passport stamps to prove this including hotel stays, visits and all social media communication. - My partner will come to Australia on a holiday/visit me for an initial 3 months and may plan another 3 months. My partner has a 12 month ETA but has to leave every 3 months. My partner will be coming across on a holiday visa initially. Any help on collating the correct evidence, what we need etc, bank accounts/social media. On a defacto 457, we need to live together for 6 months, can you see there being any issues? As much help/advice as possible would be great. Thanks. J
  3. Thank you. So it's probably best not to mention our relationship or only mention it if she's asked? My letter would only state that my partner is staying with me, it won't mention anything such as me financially supporting my partner, but more just along the lines of me providing my partner accommodation. I guess what I'm trying to say is, is there any harm in my partner visiting me in Australia?

  5. Good morning folks, My Partner will be coming to Australia to see me on a holiday visa, she's from Taiwan and we've been doing the long distance stuff for about 9 months now. I have passport stamps to prove my visits to TW and I'm a 457 holder here in WA. We plan to make it an initial 3 month staff - She has her own money to support herself during her stay here, and she will be residing with me in my apartment. If all goes well, we'll leave Australia after 3 months and return and then look into getting her onto my 457 as a defacto partner. I have some worries though, what should she need to prepare for immigration on arrival the FIRST time into WA? I was thinking; 1) A letter from me stating I will support her stay (a place to sleep/bills and food). 2) A copy of her own bank account proving she can support her stay Would return air tickets, for example, 3 weeks later make it easier for her and immigration if she shows a return ticket out of Australia? Please let me know how we can make this as smooth as possible. Her TW ETA visa has been accepted. J
  6. Hi Folks, Quick Q here.. I'm currently on a 457 visa, and I travel roughly every 3 weeks (over a weekend, taking either the Friday or the following Monday off work). So every three weeks I leave Australia to Asia for 3-4 days. Reason being, my partner lives overseas and I'm in a genuine, committed relationship. Now in regards to Visa and renewal, can this affect anything? Especially if I'm going ahead for PR visa? Could there be any complications If I'm out the country. Do I need to be in Australia for a minimum amount of time on my 457? I understand I can have unlimited entry and exits out of Australia but It'd be handy to get some expert advice J
