Hi Newjez, yes we have, probably 10 times. We went back and got married there in 2011, I went back in 2012 for my mums funeral. So we know what to expect when we get there. But it will still take some adjusting. S & C

Hi sounds strange to say "going home". I have been here in Qld for over 30yrs and my wife for 7yrs but we have decided to return to the UK. Some will say that we are mad others will just ask the question, but to us the time feels right. We are both in our 50's and we have no other relatives living here in Oz, so we looked at where we are and where we wanted to be in 5 yrs time and we came up with moving back to the UK. It will take a bit of adjusting from me because I have been here since I was 26. Australia has been good to us but even after all these years UK is home. We have no idea how it will work out, but that's the same as coming to Oz, its another chapter in the book, another adventure to enjoy. In life you never know whats around the corner that's what makes it so exciting. We will rent initially then buy some where a bit later, but we don't know where that will be. My family is from Kent my wife's is from Bedfordshire, so we could end up in either. I have read a few posts on here and one person says that you do things and make decisions that affect you at the moment in time where you are at, its true. I thought that I would die here in Oz but not anymore, right now we are "Going Home" Steve and Caroline

Hi we are returning to the UK and we have just sold our 3 bedroom house here on the Sunshine Coast. We have decided not to take any furniture back with us so we have a whole house full of furniture to sell. All of it is in VGC and nothing is over 5yrs old, most only 2yrs old. For example we have queen size beds (2 used for guest stays only) lounge suites, electrical goods, kitchen stuff, pots pans and crockery in fact the whole box and dice! We will even be selling our car nearer our departure date. Does anyone here in Oz know of someone arriving from the UK who needs furniture or needs to buy good stuff for a reasonable price. Ideally we would like to sell it in one go (offers around $10,000) but we will look at selling individual pieces. We only heard about Poms in Oz the other day so maybe some one can help. Unfortunately we will be leaving Oz around mid April 2014 so time is a bit short. Any help greatly appreciated. Steve and Caroline
