  1. Hi I’m a childcare manager from home. You mentioned that you got a sponsorship from oz I’m just wondering how you started the process . P.s I haven’t even started looking for a sponsor yet.

  2. Yay!! Joeh99 I'm delighted for you been waiting to hear this. I know the feeling, absolute shock! I spent the next 3 months lost about what to do with my life ? I arrived last week and every day has been incredible best of luck for the move ?????
  3. Hi there! M you will definitely need a minimum of 3 years management experience to qualify, TRA state that on their website and at least a diploma qual. Have you looked at the job ready program? That might be more suitable? If you are doing all the jobs of a director from ANZSCO 134111 then it will be sufficient but only after 3 years. Hope pe that helps ?
  4. Looks like the 189 has increased to 75% processed in 8 months 90% in 11 months. That's getting crazy now!!
  5. Ok understood. It's just extreme that's all. I've seen many people naming & linking to other sites across different forums and that's why people do it- to help others. This site is better for more in depth info and "chatting" / visa talk. The one that was mentioned was just a tracker ... Good of luck to all of you waiting everytime I'm getting a notification in clicking in to see if any of you have been successful. Hang in there once you get that magical email somehow all the stress and anxiety just vanishes and you'll never remember how difficult it was. It's 5 weeks until we fly and I'm still in disbelief that we have been given the visa. ?
  6. @Yikes2017 I did use an agent and this is something that drove me crazy! I always wondered if she was away/finished work etc would I know immediately! I got the call from her at 9.30am the day it was granted! So there is some delay others who applied themselves had the email in the middle of the night! Anyways if you don't hear by 10am each day you can assume it's not your day ?
  7. That's so silly! I don't understand why you can't name something that might help others both this site and others are useful. This site doesn't provide ALL the info you need to keep sane! ?
  8. Yes one on another forum nurse who lodged in mid April ? at least they're starting ....

  10. Hey @joeh99 I honestly can't believe you lot are still waiting it's crazy, but I do think you'll hear in the next couple of days. Have you checked people who applied the same day/day after you? Pretty much everyone who applied the same day or either side of me were granted a day or two apart. I know the feeling, honestly there is nothing worse. Like I've said before it would be so helpful to know if the visa is going through stages of processing rather than fearing the worst that it might be rejected! That was my biggest fear was for them to say no! Planning is going well, my team know I am leaving now and my replacement will step up in about 5 weeks- they weren't too happy about the replacement but hey ho! We've organised accommodation on the Gold Coast for the first 3 weeks and we're hopeful we can secure a long term rental in that time frame We also ordered a movecube.. Have you booked flights yet?
  11. Ok, wow Quoll cheers for that I had no idea. I shall stick with Early Years then as there is plenty of work in that and I don't need to retrain
  12. Would also like to know about Primary School jobs in Queensland. I'm considering retraining in November to become a Primary Teacher. Do most teachers in your school have qualifications 5-12 or are some 0-8? Do you also know if you choose which stage you want to teach e.g. prep or year 1 or are you assigned each year a different class?
  13. Hi All, I've recently been approved a 189 skilled independent visa for Australia and I move in 7 weeks I am a Childcare Centre Manager and I am considering going back to study a Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood & Primary) birth to eight in Brisbane in November. I have previous studies from Ireland and the UK in Early Childhood which means I can do a 4 year degree in 2 years or maybe even 18 months which would open more options for me in the future e.g. better hours/pay and if I have my own family etc. So honestly speaking, I am only considering to go back to studying now so I can be classed as a domestic student and not international if I wait until after 2018 then this would be the case and the fees would be extortionate. So I guess my question is are Primary Teachers sought after in Queensland and would someone who only trained in Primary Education (5-12 years) be more employable than me who would have (0-8 years) and over 12 years experience in Early Education and Management. Would love to hear from other Primary/Early Childhood Teachers...
