    Shipping costs

It was about $11k for a 40ft container from Melbourne. I think 20ft was about $8k...?
  2. Oh, will have to try this. We have just realised the same problem (aus printer in the UK) with our Epsom printer

Happy New Year SKW. We fly back next week
  6. Similar-ish in terms of premium but main difference is in the UK I have found is if you are covered for the particular health issue, you don't pay anything (up to limit). In Aus, I haven't quite figured out how it works but I pay a "gap" if I need to see a consultant each time. But (depending on the cover you get), you can claim on dental and optician (including contact lenses and glasses) costs in Aus.
  7. Hi Pam, we transferred from BUPA UK to BUPA Australia and kept all our pre existing conditions. We will be doing the opposite in a few weeks time and BUPA has confirmed that all our pre existing conditions will remain. The only thing is ensure that there is no lapse of cover in between when you are transferring. You may end up paying a slight overlap between the two policies depending on how organised you are but small price to pay to maintain any pre existing I think. Oh, BUPA also said we have to transfer within 30 days of landing. Not sure if this applies to all other private health insurers.
  8. Hi Stan, totally sympathise with your situation. My question would be how certain are you that the employer/your boss will honour their current stated intention to sponsor you at the end of 2 years and not find some reason not to when the time comes. Is there any way of finding out if they have a record of doing so in the past? The last thing you would want is to put up with the situation for 2 years to be let down at the end of the road.
  9. Hi. We used Letton Percival and the insurance cost was exactly the same as UK-Oz (we used them on the way out here as well).
  10. Hi, we have a 3-year old black ford fiesta hatchback (manual) for sale. It has a low mileage of 47,500km. Currently advertised at $11.5k but as we are looking for a quick sale, happy to negotiate if you are interested. Full details of the car here on carsales.com.au : http://carsales.mobi/cars/details/?R=SSE-AD-2521168&silo=Stock&Cr=3&vertical=Car&sdmvc=1 We are in eastern suburb, Victoria.
  11. Have a good trip home Gary and a white Christmas We have delayed our shipping till after Christmas. Positive of that is we won't have an empty house for Christmas. Downside is we won't get our stuff until a month after we land....
  12. Hmmm... That's good to know, thanks. Our stuff is being shipped back at the start of December but we won't be leaving till January. So, was wondering whether to not ship our fridge freezer or to hire one
  13. Hi. Does anyone have any recommendations of companies in Melbourne who hires out white goods for a few weeks? We are looking to hire a small fridge for a few weeks. There seem to be quite a few companies when I do a google search but was wondering if anyone had any personal experience. Thanks in advance.
  14. Haha. These are not the fridges you are looking for Guess I am trying to work out whether it is worth doing it. Ours is a one year old fridge
  15. Is this quite straightforward to do or does it require some preparation..? Thanks
