  1. We went from Manchester to Brisbane, with changes at London and an hour or 2 in Dubai with our 10 month old. We had a seat booked for her so had a row to ourselves. I took plenty of toys and snacks. Me and my partner sat at opposite ends so she could stand in the footwell and I put my feet up so she had a small space to wander up and down. Other passengers were lovely and talked to her as she to is chilled so out of the whole 26+ hours in the air we had one over tired breakdown!! As far as jet lag, she was fine like the previous comment on the flight she just slept when she wanted so didn't have trouble adjusting when we arrived. I was also breastfeeding so that was a life saver. Oh and prepare for no sleep on the flight!! We survived I'm sure you'll be fine!!x
  2. It's nice to hear these positive stories thanks. I have found the thread but it had older stories and having read a lot of people saying it's not like it used to be years ago (the move and opportunities) glad to hear people are happy with there choice. I think I had just spent to much time reading the negative stories and had a panic. Reading both has given me food for thought....well not put me off the move but to think about some aspects before we go!! Thanks
  3. Hi, there must be someone out there who has made the move in the last 2 years and haven't looked back?!? Anyone!?! I have read lots of comments like yours Bora and it's really worried me about moving as i wouldn't be able to just pack up and return anytime soon.

  5. Hey Cal, how long have you been in Brisbane? We are still a long way off getting there but are hoping around this time next year we will be making the move. Also like to add the contacts we made out there have been invaluable and we can contact theses people when needed.
  6. Hi! We featured in the years Wanted Down Under. The only way we could get the chance to experience Australia before committing to the move was his show. Of course the footage is edited for entertainment value but we spent a full week of filming and experiencing different aspects of life and work that you don't get to see. Obviously you don't have time to explore every possible option but it was enough for us to be happy to commit to the move!!
  7. Hi, they have said it will be on Jan 14, hopefully we will have made the move by then. It shows repeats on sky but I don't think it's on at the moment, but BBC I player had the last few series on!
  8. Hi, we have just returned from Brisbane after appearing on a UK TV show 'wanted down under' with my finance and our 11 month old daughter! We have totally fallen in love with the place and were very lucky to get so much information in a short time but that has been invaluable to making us decide the move would be right for us! I have contacted a migration agent and we are on the very 1st step of what I know will be a long process but cannot wait to get to Australia and start our new life!
