  1. Hi I am residing in Saudi Arabia and need to transfer my savings to Australia as am immigrating there. I already have an activated NAB account which I got on my first landing in Sydney. I 'test-transferred' some Saudi Riyals (equivalent to 100 AUD) and although I got the money in my NAB account the exchange rate seemed very poor. Currently, when rates are going down, I transferred almost 1500 AUD but this time I ended up getting 1490 AUD (10AUD deducted!) and plus an even poorer exchange rate compared to open market. I have significant amount I need to transfer and now am not sure what's the best method. Also, considering the falling AUD value, I would actually like to keep my savings in USD. Can I open a USD account (while outside Australia) and is there a way to transfer USD from Saudi to NAB's Aus account without having bank charges and a better exchange rate? Regards
  2. I have now done the same, thank you for your guidance.
  3. Do you simply upload it on ImmiAccount or email to case officer or email to some address or send by courier physically?
  4. Hi I understand that before grant of PR, I can change my passport details via form 929. Can I use the same form in following cases? 1- After grant of PR 2- After first entry after grant of PR (i.e., I do the first entry and return back to my home country, get my passport renewed) In case of the above situations, does your ImmiAccount remain valid and open even after grant of visa? So you can always submit new information like change of passport? And any idea how much time do they take in order to update the details and when you can travel back? Regards
  5. Thanks! What is the helpline? I heard from one of the guys that if it is showing 'required' it seems the CO won't have that document and that the agent had to send screenshots to show that document has already been uploaded. If calling the helpline is the way to ensure all docs are there with them, then I would ofcourse gladly do that.
  6. Hi I am attaching documents to my visa application (190). Initially, the status shows 'recommended', then when I upload a document, it changes to 'received'. However, for the last 6-7 documents I uploaded, the status, instead of changing to 'received', changes to 'required'. Even though in the box below, in the 'attachments provided' section, the files uploaded can be seen. Also, once the file is uploaded, is there no way to delete it, or rename it or even view it?
  7. Hey thanks! What about documents? Are scanned copies attached on the site enough or do we need to send hard copies? (I was slightly confused when they required 'attested' copies to be provided. If its a scanned copy to be uploaded, can't it be the scanned of the original, why a scan of the attested copy of original?)
  8. I submitted my visa application for 189 last week on 11 June, Today is 20 Jun. In the visa application online page it shows status 'in progress'. Does this mean application has now been successfully launched? I heard you are allotted a case officer, but I have heard nothing from DIAC as yet. I have started uploading scanned copies of attested documents. Will they need hard copy by post too? Also, for character certificate it is to be done when advised by them, but what about medical? Should I get it done now or wait until they advise me to?
  9. Hi! Quick question, I am about to submit a visa application (skilled independent) after having received an invitation to apply. I want to include my wife and mother as dependents who will migrate with me. The online application form is asking me to declare whether wife/mother have functional English (IELTS 4.5). As of now, they haven't attempted IELTS. I was just wondering: 1- Should I get them to give IELTS now and submit my application once they receive their required scores (hopefully within the 2-month timeframe I have) 2- Should I just go ahead and declare they do not have functional English and submit the application? Later on, when they clear the IELTS, then before the granting of visa or at the point of time they may ask for the additional AUD 4,250, I can then submit a form 1022 for change in circumstances and declare through it that the dependents now have functional English and send them certified TRF's of IELTS. Is the second scenario possible? Do they accept this kind of change in circumstances? Or will a non-functional English of dependents create a higher risk of refusal of visa plus a mandatory AUD 4,250 even though the dependents clear IELTS later?
