  1. We are flying over from 15th December to 30th December to Australia to validate our visa. We did originally intend to come over in July but due to family illness this had to be postponed. Can anyone help me by recommending a place to stay in the Sunshine Coast area over Christmas from 24th - 27th Dec. We have no family in Australia so won't be staying or visiting them so can anyone recommend somewhere friendly where a family of four (2 adults and 2 teenagers) can socialise and experience an Australian style Xmas. Thanks
  2. Priscilla101 I started the Jan applicants thread but just thought my timeline may help dvarghese as it is detailed.
  3. I have attached my signature with timeframe, although I might add this was an extremely simple application. For example same employer for 10 years, no convictions and we all passed medical without referral.
  4. I am also interested in this post as my daughter will be 19 when we emigrate. She would still be in education ie finished her A levels and either going to an Australian uni or gap year. We already have a 189 visa issued which she is listed on, she is obviously still at school now and when the visa was issued. Does anyone know what happens in this situation?
  5. Visa granted last week, see signature below with the info you will need.
  6. We lodged in Jan under Environmental Health Officer and our visa was issued last week. I have attached our timeline below. I know it is not March but i thought it may help people. Good luck. Just to add our application was completely straightforward, no complicated issues.
  7. Jorge Avila, looking at your dates you are about 4 weeks behind my timeline and we have just had our visa issued. Our timeline is listed below. I will add that it was straightforward with no complicated history, meds, clear police checks, same local government employer etc. Form 80, Police checks and the medical booking were uploaded within the 28 days from CO request however the actual medical reports took 10 days to upload so went over which was clearly not problem as issued. As we were not in a hurry we also did not press the application complete button which I understand can be used if you feel the application is ready to be assessed. I hope this helps.
  8. Visa granted this morning . For those still waiting my timeline is below. My husband submitted our application and the process was easy providing you read everything carefully and stick to deadlines. Also for those waiting we had no contact from the CO after we submitted our documents following a request for more info within 28 days, so no news sometimes is good news. I hope this helps some people in working out processing and grant times. I will add our application was simple ie no health issues, same employer etc.
  9. Adelaide CO too. Timeline below, simple straight forward case. Waiting for grant however not in a hurry.
  10. What a lovely post, thank you for taking the time to write such an extensive report. I grew up in a small village in North Essex and still live nearby so from a similar background. We currently have an application in for a 189 visa and are looking at moving to the Brisbane area in about 3 years time when my two children leave secondary school. Your location sounds brilliant, we are hopefully flying out in July 16 assuming the visa comes through by then so will put it on my recce list. I would like to email you privately if possible. Theresa
  11. Morning, just a quick update request. I am aware from a previous comment by Mims that her application took 6 weeks after the CO received all the docs to grant. Has anyone else who submitted their application in Jan 16 received a grant or an update on processing times? We have our medicals booked for 5th March, Police checks submitted and form 80 nearly completed. Also I am aware that in previous years the 189 visa quota was full by about now and the remaining 189 visa were delayed until July when the clock was re set. Does anyone know if we are close to the 189 quota this year?
  12. Mims That is fantastic news When and where are you going? Thank you for keeping the thread updated, we can now all estimate barring any problems how long it will take to grant.
  13. Morning, I wonder if anyone can help please. We were assigned a CO last night after only a few weeks wait which is very quick. My question is we have been asked to submit extra employment history, medicals and Police checks within 28days, naturally we can upload the employment docs but are we able to delay the medicals by stating they are booked providing the date at the end of March. This will be more than the 28 days allowed. I know from a previous thread that the Police checks take about a week to come back so we could time those accordingly. The reason is we would personally prefer them done at the end of March so we can go out next Easter to stamp with a view to emigrating in 2020. So no rush on our application, what has thrown me is the CO allocation was taking longer but they are now coming through in weeks which I know will be good news for most.. Thanks.
