  1. sounds sensible to me then there would be no rushing or panicking closer to time, once visa is granted you still have time to activate it you don't need to go right away and then you are also able to make multiple entry's on a partners visa. Someone will be able to give you an exact time but i am sure its up to something like a year after your medicals and police checks for your IED initial enrty date. First time i have offered advise hope its correct and helpful
  2. Thanks Cal i already have a PR visa, as wife is Australian, and a job offer with VW garage, its just a recruitment company got in touch with me as i am arriving in Perth on June 20th and had applied for a few jobs to get a feel of employment, and they are asking some questions and what qualifications i had. When i worked for Audi we all have to do exams to be approved and was told this is accepted in USA and Australia. Thanks for getting back to me. Kirk
  3. Does anyone know of any British mechanics who have came out with ATA recognition not sure if this is recognised, was told it was when i was doing my service technician assessment but still a bit unclear. Any help would be great
  4. Great news Tulip, VF was my CO too and thought she was great heard people on hear moaning about her, cant see why. So glad for you, we fly out two weeks tomorrow now to perth, cant wait. It does look like the waiting time is coming down too though so wonder how the next lot of applicants will get on.
  5. cant say for sure whats best but we used crown relocations on a shared container. Our stuff was put into our own separate pallet which is then loaded into the actual container. Havnt received it at other end yet but have been told its two weeks for clearance anyway so not expecting it any sooner. Cant see how anyone else's belongings should affect yours tbh
  6. Hi George you always seem to have the right answers i like it a lot. Can i just ask a something it seems you have already answered, my wife has Australian passport and is a citizen my daughter and i have permanent partners visa 100 does that mean we can all go down the Australian passport line, as we all know that is a good bit shorter lol
  7. Thanks very much, its been a great load lifted of knowing there is work in Perth for me and to have an offer already.
  8. Good morning everyone, looking for some advice. I am a VW Audi senior technician and had sent my CV and training record to the Audi garage in Perth. As emigrating there on june 20th, and was trying to get a feel for employment and conditions. The manager has been back and forward with me and is wanting to employ me and asked what salary i am after? Does anyone know what kind of money good Technicians get or can ask for over in Perth? Any help would be appreciated. Kirk
  9. I am interested in this because I am going over on a partner visa and am a vw audi mechanic, I am ATA accredited and have approached both vw and audi garages over in Perth with my cv and training record, neither one has asked for Australian skills test documents but both shown interest in employing me. Think I will watch this thread. Good luck though
  10. I had her and thought she was great, straight to the point just what is required I think. Got ours through ahead of schedule.
