We bought them with the $2 sim as we were going to move across to Telstra from Optus but got a better deal at the last minute from Optus so we stayed with them; hence why we are selling the recharge vouchers. The vouchers will give you data and calls; how much will be determined by what Telstra recharge plan your sim is linked to. We are based in Perth (Mount Lawley) and I also work in the CBD. In WA, we have the entertainment book - costs $70 but you make your money back after a couple of meals using the discount.

As far as I'm aware, there are no options to get a short extension. Unfortunately, I hate to say this without sounding rude, they have given you five years to move, which in their view should be more than enough time. It's not as easy as apply for jobs, sell your house & move.....if it was then we would all have done that as opposed to spending close to £15,000 to go through the skilled visa process, skills assessments, police checks, undertake medicals, professional registration in Australia and move lock, stock & barrel to the other side of the world!! You need to remember that it's Australia and not the UK so it is of no relevance of what's happening in the UK. Australia has a controlled migration policy that is points based and via skills assessment. Without sounding cruel or demeaning to you & your job, australia wants people to fill the gaps it has in certain occupations and experience; almost add value if you like - they have plenty of Australian citizens who can work in an office where there isn't (in the main) the requirement to have lots of qualifications to do so - hopefully I haven't offended you or office workers but it is the reality. As I've said earlier, not everyone qualifies for a visa to live and work in australia. You could run your circumstances past a registered MARA migration agent, they normally do a free assessment to establish if you qualify for a visa.

Hello, to be eligible to live & work in australia (both temp or perm) you would need your occupation to be on the list of required occupations (SOL or CSOL). If it is, then you could go down the route of skilled migration (189 or 190 - both permanent skilled visas or 457 - temp skilled visa); provided you could also pass a skills assessment in your nominated occupation. By what you say, I don't think office worker is on any of the lists so skilled migration may not be an option for you (not everyone can follow this route unfortunately) but please check to confirm this. If you're under 30 years, then you could temporarily live & work in australia via a working holiday visa. This is initially for one year but can be extended for a second year if you do regional work (like on a farm) for a period of (I think) 3 months in your initial 12 months. Please note the WHV is only temporary (mainly used by backpackers), you can only work for the same employer for no more than 6 months & the WHV does not automatically lead to permanent or skilled migration. I am no expert on visa matters - hopefully someone better informed than myself will come along to help - but this will (hopefully) provide you with a starting point! Google SOL and CSOL and check your occupation is the first step - this will help identify if you're eligible for a skilled migration visa. Good luck!!!

They have a special offer on at the moment where they charge you $10 for your first month on a no contract then $16.99 per month after that ($197 for the year) or you can pay $150 for an annual subscription. Last season, there wasn't many league one or two games shown so the original poster might not get to see Coventry live on a regular basis but will get to see most Celtic games (either on TV or via live game on the Bein website, which you get access to with your monthly/annual subscription)

Foxtel have the same thing - you can record, pause and rewind too! There's also anytime and movie downloads. I used to work for Sky before I moved and Foxtel are only just getting these functions and their offering is poor in comparison to Sky but its better than nothing!!!

Bein sports (used to be setanta sports) subscription, which is $149 for the year will get you the SPFL games, especially Celtic and Rangers, plus you will get English championship, MLS, Serie A, Bundesliga and French football live. Unfortunately, you won't get English league 1 regularly on FOXTEL or Bein Sports.

Hello, we got our visa issued 21 June 2013 and we left the UK on 26 August 2013....so it was 2 months for us! To be fair, my wife had organised pretty much everything prior to visa grant (risky but it worked out for us) so by the time we got our visa grant we had just to book our one-way flights, sell our cars and confirm date of the shipping container.The short time frame worked well as we didn't have too long to think about the move either!! Like you guys, we didn't want to arrive in Perth in the middle of summer which is why we arrived end August/beginning of September (we had 5 days in Singapore). When we did arrive, it rained for a whole month....worst September rainfall recorded...not what we signed up for The sunshine was soon around the corner though and has been (pretty much) since. Where in Australia are you & your family thinking of settling? As I said, we came to Perth and absolutely love the decision we made! Good luck with the progress of your visa and the move....no matter how long you choose to wait between visa grant and when you leave; it won't will feel like it's not long enough and too long a wait some days!!

Time is not your main issue here; it's the fact that your occupation is not on any of the relevant lists (SOL or CSOL) - this will stop you getting sponsored or a permanent visa. I'm a CIMA (& now CPA) qualified accountant and can confirm that you won't meet the criteria of accountant on the SOL with your AAT qualification. The job market here in Perth is quite saturated with qualified/part qualified accountants but you might be successful in gaining employment as a bookkeeper (for example) while on your WHV - but this won't open any doors to 457 sponsorship or any other permanent visa. Unfortunately, there is not much to recommend so that you get 'lucky' other than enjoy the time you have in Oz on your WHV or (as someone else suggested) you get 'lucky' and meet a nice Aussie girl!!
