  1. Hi all, just wondering if anyone has had this same qualification and had it recognised is Australia? This is a Scottish qualification. We have been in Australia many years and I am just starting to get my qualifications changed over now my youngest child is getting ready to start School. I have struggled to find the correct governing body for this qualifications. Any advice would be greatly appreciated Thank you
  2. Hi We are a family of 5 currently in Perth. Newcastle is our home.. great for all ages. We have moved several times in Australia we never feel settled. Newcastle keeps calling me home .. We have a house in Wallsend but Whitley bay is my favourite place . I just love living at the beach.. Tynemouth and Monkseaton are also lovely. We aim to move back soon, with children Whitley is perfect for us as has great Schools.. Hope your move goes smoothly.
  3. Hi LKC Yes kinross is lovely, so glad your children have settled well!! Makes it much easier. We have June/July children so sadly they would be in the same year Scotland or England. Hi Jgt.. im sorry to hear finances are making it hard for you to stay here. Are yous happy to be heading back to the UK ? Where in the UK will you go? We are South. . In Waikiki. How old are your family. Thank you.. hooe all of your plans are going well!! Christine
  4. Hi Thank you .. i really appreciate the replies everyone. I know we have to come back and if im honest i also want to come back. Its just hard to make that final decision. Although we still have our house in Newcastle. I am Scottish and most jobs for my husband seem to be in Manchester or Scotland at the moment. Hopefully after going back on this trip we will feel more comfortable with our decision. Sunshine 111, the thought of going somewhere new when you came back must have been hard, that is a slight worry for me, but we do miss Europe. Feel so isolated here in Perth. LKC. Do you mind if i ask where in Scotland? Our children have only been to School here in Aus so i didnt realise Scotland /England intake may be different. I will look into thank you. Our children have no knowledge into british history, although they are learning about it now ready for our trip. Lots of helpful information to look in to. Thank you Christine
  5. Hi All We are a family of five have been in Perth around 7years. I have fibromyalgia and sadly the heat affects me ?.. lol Not the best climate to move to.. Anyways each summer gets harder out here for me and I just couldn't hold down a job here being so ill. Hubby has a god job but I'd love to go bk to work. Obviously I'll still have the condition in the UK but from living there and holidaying in cooler climates my health is far better there. I'm feeling a little selfish considering the move back but I think I need a life as well. In my mid 30s the thought of being a hermit here in the summers is hard.. We would head back to Whitley Bay. My concerns will be Schools we have a 10/8 /4 and also my hubby getting a job back there, I have already spoken to a few companies for myself and there are options. Always being a stay at home mum just won't suit us and the older our children get the tighter money will become if I can't work here. Anyone with information on the difference in Schooling ?? I'm concerned my children will be behind when we move bk. We are heading to Newcastle for the first time in 7 years for a reccie we go in 2 weeks. We are all excited but I'm also extremely nervous!! We only have ten years left on our UK mortgage and 28 here in Perth?,... doesn't help that the market in Perth is not great!! Anyone else in the Newcastle area with any tips/info would be appreciated. Have great evening all. Christine
  6. Hi we are a family of 4, we moved bk to the UK last sept . We were in Perth on a 457 visa, although we enjoyed our time we were unsure if we wanted to stay. After the long winter here in Scotland we applied for a permanent visa and will be heading bk to Perth in the next few weeks. We dont have any family around us making our decision easier , but we do regret leaving when we did, as soon as my hubby was offered a job in the UK it was all systems ago i feel now that we didnt take enough time to ensure that is what we wanted. But it is different for everyone, just dont rush things until you are all sure , we have spent the last ten months regretting our quick decision. Hope it all goes well
  7. Hi oslopoms, I am from Glasgow and hubby is from Newcastle , how is your visa going? Hope all of your plans are coming together . We head out end of July just finishing everything off have 2 weeks short term in Kallaroo , schools in these suburbs have high marks. Hopefully we will easily find a rental once we arrive . Christine
  8. Hi All We arrive in Perth at the end of July and are very excited!! We have previously lived near Rockingham in the past but will be heading to Padbury/Duncraig. When we arrive our son will have just turned 5, and daughter just turned 3. My hubby will be working in Subiaco, and i stay at home. Looking to meet friends, either for me and lil ones during the week or for us all at the weekends!!!! Christine
  9. Hi All sorry its been a few hectic weeks. We thlought we would be heading ufor Perth around Dec, but we are now heading out at the end of JULY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My husband has been offered his previous job bk in Perth and they need himo asWap. So we are currentlyW trying to sort out all of our arrangments. Would be great to have meet up, we are keen to meet families and start our new life!! Christine
  10. Hi thank you My husband will be working in Subiaco, we have lived south before but wondered if we should try Padbury/kallaroo over waikiki. WE have 2 children that will be starting school not long after we arrive so we will have to decide before arriving or very quickly. It was mainly to find out if crime was far less in Kallaroo/Padbury or just similar to rockingham/waikiki. Thanks
  11. Hi We head out to Perth in few months and were aiming for Waikiki as we have lived there in the past, i have been on the Perth crime page on facebook and it seems there is alot more crime Rockingham etc area at the mo. As we have two young kids we want to make the right choice with the suburbs, we were also considring Padbury, can anyone tell me what the crime is like in this and surrounding suburbs?? I know there is crime everywhere but want to take it into consideration when choosing suburb. Thank you in advance
  12. Hi All We are heading to Perth from Stonehaven Aberdeen in around 10 weeks. We were hoping to use movecube and have had quotes and emails etc, and there seemed to be no problems as they knew our address and postcode, when they called to make booking this morning they told us they dont collect from Aberdeen. We are now at a loss to what we should do, we are wondering if anyone else has used a company with a similar item to the movecube in Aberdeen ?????? as we only have toys etc, nothing big enough for a crate, as we need to book it ASAP. Thank you in advance.
  13. Hi We live in Stonehaven which is 13 miles south of aberdeen, my hubby works in Aberdeen. We moved bk from Perth last year, but are heading bk in a few months, my hubby earns in the 60s and we dont have much left over, rent is high especially in decent areas. Stonehaven is a smallish village good schools, beach, train etc. We have 2 children and stay in a 2 bedroom flat our rent is 750 per month. Aberdeen itself from what we have seen is nice, lovely beach etc. Hope this helps.
