Hi all, we are now living the dream and are now living onthe Gold Coast. My OH has just statedworking on a self-employed basis and I wondered how it works? IE how much tax and supper should we put away weekly/monthlyon a $35.00 a hour rate ,we are keeping all receipts for petrol, tools etc as Iam sure that it kind of works the same way as UK IE deducting expenses etc. Does anyone have a web site that they could recommend thatexplains how it work as I found the government web site quite confusion. Hi Ralsinoz, we are moving to Brisbane ( Pimpama) in September and are going to be staying with my sister for about a month until we find are own property to rent and we are only shipping to OZ our personnel items, so I would be intersted to see how far you are from Pimpama. Thanks Kelly

Can anyone help, we are flying with Malaysia airlines and we are allowed 40KG each and my Hubbie want's to take is golf clubs on the plane rather then ship and I am unsure if the golf club weight is in addition to the 40KG of part of the 40kg. Thanks, we have two Children aged 6 & 2. The stop over is at Kuala Lumpa and only seems to be for two hrs, which is great as I am sure we are just going to want to get there.

Thank you all for you kind wishes, it is nice to be able to finally send this post. We applied for the visa exactly 8 weeks ago tomorrow. so not bad going CO was allocated 4 weeks after lodgement. Good luck to you all, we will be leaving UK at the beginning of September and heading the Goldcoast to see my sister who left UK 4years ago, just in time for her 40th!!!!

OMG can't quite beleive it, our 189 visa has been granted today!!!! No more paperwork to fill out no more worrying if we were going to get it or not!! WE HAVE IT!!!! Next stress now is to sort out what we are taking and what we have leaving...... Good luck to you!! Keep going it will be worth it.

Hi Samlee, we also had are medicals done on 14.06.13 and our PCC were sent to CO before 14.06.13, We do have a CO but as yet still no Visa!!! I can' see that anyone has been issued with a via since 21.06.13, so I am hopeing it will be any day now too. Really need to hand in my notice at work as we hope to be leaving at the beginning of Sept. Keep me posted abou your visa. Thanks Kelly
