  1. Did you get assessment first? Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
  2. We did ours by ourselves, if you do your research, its straight foward, but the whole process is long, i have been researching australia immigration for five years before doing the actual process. Lol so i knew whar to expect at each stage ☺ Sent from my SM-G900P using Tapatalk
  3. I would say its rare but it depends on your profession. I had two interviews, and phd school interest and i know for sure, if i was in australia and new Zealand and had the visa i would have gotten the jobs..why because they told me:) so i regrouped, stopped focusing my time on empoyer sponsorship and just applied for the visa and I am now in final stage. 7. I took the IELTS and it felt like I was in prison, 3 hours with no alotted break time. I had the smallest desk. It was so small, I could not have my answer sheet, and booklet on the desk at the same time. The booklet I had in my hand. As a native English speaker from the US. It was not too bad. Although, I can see how it can be stressful for a non native English speaker. I think the hardest was the reading. I took the General Training. When I studied, I studied for Academic and GT. I actually think the Academic is easier for me, but it is because I am in the Science field. I am use to science papers, and picking apart and analyzing data. I took about a week to study. I think my advice for Native English Speakers is tons of practice test and you will be fine. focus on the Reading and writing more and your timing! The speaking and listening was a breeze! One thing I do disagree with the Pearson study book is the speed reading. I found it better to to "glance at the reading passage", and go straight to the answers and work backwards. You save a ton of time that way, and you have to go back and look for the answers in the passage anyway. No sense in reading it twice
  8. The processing time for child visa is very short, less than 3 months actually for most cases. It is around $2000 USD. My husband and I have gone back in forth on this as well, wether to wait to have baby here in the US, (Our Australia visa is finalized), or to have baby in Australia, (go to Australia before visa is finalized). I think cost wise it narrows down to the same for us. Go over later with two people working, pay child visa fee. Or go over while pregnant and have one one source of income for a few months. It all about the timing really. If we are preg while visa is in process, we can notify application status
  9. Thanks everyone yes the website did look questionable! :chatterbox:
  10. I am confused as to how this works, I posted this from a site below.... "If you are outside Australia when you apply then you are able to travel to Australia on another visa eg Tourist/ Visitor Visa; and when that expires you can apply for the above bridging visa. In this way you will also gain access to work rights whilst waiting on the outcome of your application. The rationale behind this is that Australia has decided that they want you and so invite you to apply for Skilled Migration then they don't want any hurdles in your way to get to Australia. " So does that mean once I have received a positive invite to apply from EOI, and lodge my perm. visa application. I can go to Australia on a tourist visa for 3 months and then apply for a bridging visa if I am still waiting on my perm. visa? Can you work on a bridging visa?:chatterbox:
  11. JOB DUTIES ARE KEY!!! not the title
  12. Week 15 and positive result yay!, sending luck to everyone out there, hang in there
  13. Congrats !!!!!My husband and I are front loading everything!!!!, Vetasses results done, Visa doctor appointment in a week, police checks done and recieved (We lived in Japan for a bit, those police checks took forever from there), IELTS test results in two weeks, ( I don't have to take it, We are American, have 60 points without it, but I want as much points as possible not taking any chances). My husband's a teacher and has just registered for VIT (Victoria Institute of Teaching) and had two companies interested in him if that goes thru, so in a month everything will be done and submitted, and after that its in fates hands:)
  14. Finally, after 15 loooonnnng weeks a positive result from vetasses. Now onto the dreaded 190 sponsorship visa (hard to get in) for VICTORIA,, but If that gets rejected, We will go thru as 189 thru my husbands Teacher field is on the SOL list. Now time to study and take the IELTS, This immigration process is making my nerves and bank account short lol.:chatterbox:
  15. Are you applying for school or academic organization, you only need to do take the General training IELTS if for work visa
