  1. yes it will sail to port adelaide, and the quote is for a door to door service
  2. My brother and his family live in Darwin, he works in the workshop on the mine! He loves it, went 2 year ago and has never looked back......good luck to you
  3. We are from Cumbria.....our 20ft container has cost us £4500 inc insurance, we are going to Adelaide and have used PSS
  4. Melbourne does look fab.....goodluck with everything, we chose adelaide for a more laid back life, lovely beaches and everything is still close to the city, exciting times
  5. Hello.....whereabouts in Oz are you off? We head out in March and are heading to Adelaide
  6. Fab to hear such a positive story...all the best for the future
  7. you can do it online but we have been told that some companies don't accept the online version so it's best to do it once you have arrived, as I say this is just what I have been told, but do believe it to be true x
  8. hi, we have a 489 visa in place and go to Oz in March, I have been told that all a joiner needs is a white card to start work and you can apply for that and achieve it in one day, I do believe that it would only take a heating engineer this long and not all construvtion workers....I was watching WDU too.....:rolleyes:
  9. Hi, we submitted end of July, granted 16th October......good luck
  10. Good luck in whatever you choose to do x
  11. Brilliant post, we are arriving in adelaide in March and with my husband working in construction we can't really start looking for work until nearer the time we move, so like you we will probably go and he will get a job while we are out there. It's really good to read a successful, positive post. We also have two children which obviously makes things seem like an even bigger risk, but sometimes risks just have to be taken........
  12. Fingers crossed, you will have to let us know how you get on!!
  13. That's brilliant news!! its so exciting, all the best to you. We are also going through the final stages of a ss to SA.........hopefully we will be in the same position as you before we know it :ssign19:
  14. hi, i am in the same position as yourself, really wanting to move to darwin instead though, but really dont have a clue where to start, there is so much to think about, i am a joiner by trade and there seems to be alot of construction work on the go at the min so thought it would be a good time to try and get a sponser but not really sure how to go about it, i would also be greatfull for any advice availble, goodluck with everything alex, hopefully with you having family out there you may find it easier??
  15. Hi, we have just started looking into trying to emigrate and i am really worried about telling my aunt (whom i have grew up with) as she watches my little girl while i am at work so spends 4 out of 7 days with her, she also has both my children every friday night so she is a big part of their lives, i can only hope she will be supportive, i hope your mum realises u only want what is best for your family, (as i hope my aunt will!!) good luck with your move.
