  1. Hi Mark, just wondering if you settled in Geelong in the end and if so how do you find the commute to Melbourne? I have just landed in Melbourne 2 weeks ago with my partner and baby and we have viewed properties in Geelong but are concerned about commuting as I will be working in Parkville (north melbourne).Any info would be really appreciated!
  2. I just arrived in Melbourne last week from Ireland and posted over a few boxes with toys, clothes etc. It's much cheaper & faster than shipping companies. Best of luck with packing & the move
  3. Hi, sorry for the disappearing act, with a new baby & returning to work I don't get much time to post. Great to hear so many of you have made the move & are settling in well. We're still in Ireland, not planning to move until Feb (still saving!), visa is sponsored by Victoria so thinking of going to Geelong. Is anyone else going to Victoria, a lot seem to be in Perth here
  4. I meant to say I just read the e-mail now but it arrived in my inbox at 1.48 this morning  Thanks for the info on getting it validated in any airport, I've a newborn baby so I'd say it will be the end iof this year when we fly over but at least can start getting organised now. Hope your grant comes through next week!
  5. Woo-hoo Just got an e-mail with the visa grant!!! I guess Friday 13th is lucky for some. We have a year from date of PCCs to activate. On the online 'check progress of application' all the documents on the checklist are showing as 'met' and beside each applicants name on the home page is says 'applicant approved'. I had uploaded the PCCs online last week but sent an e-mail with them last night too so maybe this helped it along? Can anyone tell me if I have sponsorship from Victoria do we have to fly into Victoria to activate the visa or can we fly to any airport?
  6. Only 1 mail so far from the COs team e-mail address (4)
  7. Thanks! Meds for all of us are showing as finalised on 10/4/12 on the online application so hopefully it wont be much longer for the visa grant
  8. Just updating my timeline, Meds & PCC all sent so just waiting now! We did our medicals in Dublin & it was a great service;2 adults & baby completed in 1.5 hours for all tests incl x-rays!
  9. It was a slow start but its all go now!
  10. Hi, Thought id join as ive also submitted my 176 visa application (Sponsorship from Victoria) this month, on 6th March, and have already been assigned a CO who has requested medicals & police checks!
