  1. Hi Guys, i've been following this thread for months but sat in the shadows. I've just had my PR granted!!!!! I have a migration agent that was really on the ball, as soon as we hit 6 months she emailed them chasing it up (yesterday) and we got the Nomination and Visa today within half hour of each other. 2 People LR Date of Application 17th September 2015 Insurance Investigator NSW PESE We had the same Case Officer which i think helped too. Only asked for 1 slight amendment to a document which was rectified immediately. Good Luck everyone else!
  2. He was the brains behind Oasis, absolutely gutted i can't go which is why I'm selling at face value.
  3. Hi people, Selling 2 tickets to Noel Gallagher/High Flying Birds at the Horden Pavillion, Sydney on 26th March. I now can't go so happy to sell at face value ($99 per ticket) This saves you about $15 from the Ticketek website as they have delivery and credit card fees on top. I already have the tickets so can email straight away when payment is confirmed. Thanks Dave
  4. Hi, I am on a 457 visa looking at 186 PR. I am aware that i have to wait 2 years before i can apply for it however i have heard that you can start the application process before the 2 years. I know i will need medicals and police checks too but does anyone know how far in advance can these be done. If these is not the case any you have to wait 2 years before you can start then i would love to know! Thanks Dave
  5. Hey guys, I have been watching this thread since about page 30! I finally got my visa approved today. My 457 nomination and application went in together on 24th June for the role of Fraud/Insurance Investigator in Sydney. We had our Nomination approved on 26th August and the application today on 13th September. Who says 13 is an unlucky number! I applied with my partner as de facto and had no medicals or any other confusing things so not sure why it took so long. My migration agent said that the election had a big effect on the speed of the applications plus depending on what office they are processing from makes a difference. Mine was Parramatta which is supposed to be quite slow. Anyway good luck to everyone still waiting.
  6. I have used them on numerous occasions and they have been excellent. We have never had to wait for more than 5 days for our deliveries to arrive.
  7. Funnily enough i just looked into this and i think i may have put resident on my last tax form which is the reason why i got taxed less. Looking at the website it says that if i'm going to travel more and work less put non resident but if i'm going to work more and travel less then put resident. Do you know if i can chage my status now to resident?
  8. I am on a working holiday visa and have just started a new job temping earning $25 an hour. I did 3 days last week and got paid around $700. When i got my payslip i was taxed nearly a third. The company have my tax file number etc so i don't think the tax code is wrong. I was temping a few weeks ago with another company and didn't get taxed this much. Looking at the website http://www.paycalculator.com.au/ i should only be taxed a maximum of $150. Can anyone explain why i have been taxed so much and what they suggest? I will be contacting the tax office tomorrow but just wanted to see if anyone has had this problem too? Thanks Dave
  9. Sorry all getting a bit confusing, Natman i have sent you a PM, thanks Dave
  10. Hi, I sent you a PM, did you receive it? Dave
  11. Hi, I'm looking at the above two visas and trying to work out which one would be the most appropriate. I've already used a working holiday visa 5 years ago and am looking to go back to Australia with my other half. My partner is going to be getting a working holiday visa so she will be able to work and stay for a year. I would like to do the same, obviously minus the working. I have sufficient funds to see me through the whole year. Will it be possible to get either of these visas for a year? i did notice they offer them generally for 3 or 6 months but i want to stay longer. I have family in Australia that are happy to sponsor me however i have read that people only really use this visa if they are from a country that has history of people not leaving when their visa expires. Any experiences or help would be hugely appreciated. I am from the UK and currently live in London. Thanks Dave
