Thanks for your reply. Do we just need to pay and submit the forms before he turn 18 for it to be classed as an under 18 application?

We are about to apply for this visa for my husbands son. He turns 18 in a few weeks time. He is currently a fulltime student in the UK and lives with his mother (who has given consent for him to move). My question is, is there any benefit in applying before he is 18?

hi take them to any post office and they will certify 3 documents for around £7.50. ( no limit on amount)

Hi My husband got charged 12 years ago with plagium (kidnapping!!). he basically had a fallout with his ex partner who had agreed to let him see his son and she then changed her mind and phoned the police. It went to court and he was admonished. so my question is will he need to declare this when arriving in australia and will it cause us any problems? it shows as admonished on his police certificate.

Hi im struggling to find a job in melbourne that will sponsor me on a 457 visa. im a nurse and have my letter of eligibility from AHRPA. There seems to be loads of agency work, so as im still under 30 do you think it would be easier to try get an employer to sponsor me when im already in melbourne working on a WHV? My husband is over 30 so he could only work once i secure a sponsor. Iv tried using a few agencys now and they tell me that most of the jobs are going to the graduates so a lot less sponsorships are available.

thanks will do Another option i was thinking about is going over on a working holiday visa, however my husband is over 30 so he wont be able to work (he can look after kids). Does anyone know if it would be a lot easier for me to do that and obtain a sponsor on a 457 visa whilst im in Melbourne ?

Hi Sorry should have mentioned iv 6 years experience. yes, Iv emailed a few hosptials direct (public and private), but mainly im applying for jobs through agencys or seek.com. Dont know if the fact i havent a visa is making it harder for me?

Hi Iv spent last 5 or 6 months applying for jobs in Melbourne that will sponsor me for a 457 visa. Iv already got my letter of eligibility from AHPRA, but in all that time iv only had 1 interview which i wasnt successful in. I work in a general surgical ward here in uk and never thought for a minute that id struggle to find anything. iv registered with a few agencys and i check on seek.com daily. Has any1 any other suggestions that may help me? thanks Ashley

thanks for the tip:smile:, i think i hesitated on a few questions. the agency woman had already contacted my referees and said they both gave me excellent references, so im hoping the interviewers look at my cv and references more and forget about the interview:laugh:

thanks for that reply, its made me feel a bit better. any idea of the numbers that are getting interviewed for each job or does it vary from post to post? i know that i was the only one from the agency im using to get an interview for this particular ward.

thanks for your quick reply. i wasnt too confident after my interview as its the first real interview iv ever had and didnt know how to really prepare for it as iv only had the one job since qualifying and was a student in the ward i ended up in. Do you think its fair to assume iv been unsuccessful if my referees havent been contacted so far since its been a few weeks since interview? im friendly with both of them and im sure they would contact me to let me know if they had been contacted

Hi I had an interview a few weeks ago for a job and the agency has said i should find out next week if i have the job or not. my question is: Do they usually contact your referees before they offer you the job?
