  1. Hi. I'm at about the same point. I did my academic IELTS for registration as a midwife and got the required mark of 7 writing and 9 in all other categories. However for visa purposes you can take the general test which I understand is a little easier. I studied using textbooks from the library which really helped. Obviously cost wise its best to get 8 in each area of the academic IELTS then you wont need to do the general test but if not there is still an option.
  2. Hi Jenny, Thank you for the link it really helped. I think your right about applying. I sent my application in yesterday so fingers crossed will let you know what happens. Shelly
  3. Hi Jenny Thanks very much for your response. Its good news that someone got on the program without permanent residency. Are you applying for the graduate program? Sorry NQM is newly qualified midwife. I spoke with Bev from King Edward memorial hospital in Perth who mentioned you had to be a permanent resident at the time of applying but on the WA website it says preference will be given to permanent residence as you have mentioned. To me that suggests you can apply but might not stand as good a chance. maybe things have changed Im hoping I dont need it! Shelly
  4. Hello Im also interested in the graduate midwife program. I understand that you cant apply unless you have permanent residency. Is this the case? Also I cant pm on my account yet so was wondering if anyone could send me more information about what its like and when to apply or if its needed as a NQM. I dont qualify until August 2012 so understand that I can only apply for programs starting in 2013. Im looking at moving over on my husbands visa if he is sponsored to Perth . Are UK trained midwives in with a good chance of getting on the program?
