  1. Hi We are due to fly back to the UK on Saturday 8th March for good. We are flying back Malaysia air with a stopover in Kuala Lumpur for a couple of hours. My son has ADHD and is taking Ritalin for it. We have been to see his specialist and she has given us a 3 months supply of tablets (90 tablets) to take back to the UK with us, we aren't sure how long it will be before we can get him under another specialist and she wants him to be covered. We have a letter from her stating what his medication is for and how much she has given us. All the bottles are labelled with his name and they are in their original boxes. I was wondering if we need anything else and should I carry all the medication as hand luggage. When we flew over I carried the same amount in my hand luggage with a letter from his then specialist but we stopped over in Hong Kong. We didn't have any problems but not sure if Kuala Lumpur is stricter. I think I have watched to many episodes of the nothing to declare and I am now starting to panic. Sorry for wittering on and thank you in advance.
  2. Afternoon all, Just wondering what is the cheapest time to travel from aus to uk. I am planning a trip home but not sure when the cheapest time to travel is. We can go anytime we don't have to limit it to school holidays. Thanks in advance Emma x
  3. Thankyou both for the replies. That's 1 less thing to worry about. I had visions of being thrown to jail
  4. Hi Sorry wasn't sure where I should be posting this question. We are flying to Australia on 1st June and have to go through hong kong. I was wondering if anyone would be able to advise me what the procedure is for taking medication. My son is on medication for adhd and it is classed as a controlled substance. I will have to bring about 2 months supply as we aren't sure when our container will arrive. I have tried looking on the internet but can't really find exactly what we are suppost to do. People have said to declare it, while others have said we don't need to. People have also mentioned needing a permit. I will be carrying a letter from his consultant stating what medication he is on and what it is needed for. I am totally confused Thanks Emma xxx
  5. Thankyou. I can start to get excited now as everything is all sorted xx
  6. All sorted now. Got all flight details today we fly on 1st June. Don't have to pack the boxes just leave it all to the removals company:biggrin: All I'll have to do is make the cups of tea.
  7. We haven't been asked to fill out any paperwork regarding a visa as far as I know.
  8. We are due to fly on 1st June.
  9. Hi all, Do you need a visa to go to Sydney? We are due to fly over on the 1st June, we don't need visa's as we are coming over with the forces. We where suppost to fly onto Melbourne but thing have since changed. Hubby is sure he's read somewhere that we need visas to get into Sydney. Thanks in advance xx
  10. Hi Just sat here thinking. My oldest son has just diagnoised with ADHD and he has been prescribed Equasym Xl. Does anyone have any idea if this is available in australia? Thankyou
  11. We spoke to the army regarding the rabies vaccination and they told us we didn't need it as we will be living near a medical unit and they'd never heard of anyone going to Australia having to get it done. I think it was my gp being a little over cautious as he'd never done a medical for moving to Australia before. We've been told we only need hep A. I'm hoping nothing else is going to crop up as our flights are booked for 1st June
  12. Haven't been told about them covering our medical expenses. I'd better get my hubby to ask them as my oldest son is on medication for adhd. Thankyou for mentioning that I'd never thought of it.
  13. We haven't been told about a visa and haven't been asked for any paperwork to apply for one. They also only wanted a limited medical. The army is dealing with everything and we've only been asked for paperwork to apply for passports and medicals.
