Hi there, We have been in toowoomba almost 2 years now and love it!! i have two daughters one 3 and my other one is almost 11. Hi all, Hope someone out there can help us,we have been in oz for 16 months on a 457 visa and are now about to apply for a RENS. My question is how do we go about getting uk police checks? the form says you have to provide tw0 proofs of official correspondence showing name and address both dated within the last six months? How can i do that when ive been living in oz? also we need to pay by uk cheque,postal order or bankers draft,we do not have a uk cheque book so what do we do??? Sorry if this is all mumbo jumbo but we are totally confused,please help!!!!!:arghh:

Hi, thank you all for your replies,it helps to know others have been through or are going through the same things. Sometimes i feel like im the only one! Well my daughters finally settled down a bit,its just that the house feels so "empty",but im back at work Monday so hopefully that will keep my mind from wondering !!

We have been in oz for almost 12 months now and just had an amazing 4 weeks with my mom who came on holiday from the U.K,she went home last night and im absolutely gutted!!!!!!!. Things have been tough for us since we arrived in oz and are only just starting to pick up,but since i left my mom at the airport all i can think of is i want to go home. Im not after sympathy just reassurance that this is normal!my 9 year old is in pieces and its making me think is it all worth it? Thanks, Rachel.

Hi, We have been in toowoomba via Adelaide for 5 weeks now and love it!!!! no its not by the beach but its only 2-3 hours away great for long weekends:biggrin:. We live in rangeville but Highfields and middleridge are also nice. Toowoomba is not a "banging" town but we love it,its got great parks,shopping malls and friendly locals!!! I have two girls 9 and 2 and wouldnt want to be anywhere else.xx
