Well...still haven't sold our UK house! Does anybody know if its possible to clear our UK mortgage by adding it onto our Aussie one? Just to keep all our finances together. .. We plan to srart eenting it again and wait until the UK property market picks up again before we try selling it again. ..

We are ok although my 8 year old keeps having meltdown where she wants to go home...she hasn't had the best of starts at school, long story but she is in a good school now albeit private... I am back at uni only studying a fast track nursing degree! SA won't let me teach and it is so hard to even get an interview in teaching. I am looking at the bigger picture now and nursing seems to be one area where there are massive shortages! Were both working for an agency doing chef work...weather has been amazing on the other hand! We still haven't sold our house in the UK and had it rented for a while but now it is empty because we can't event it and have it for sale at the same time which is barbaric and a financial strain... Would you consider renting out yours?

Are any of you guys nurses or in the med field? if yes what is the starting salary for a newly qualified nurse in Oz? Thinking of changing direction...

Well we have been here for 52 days, our worldly goods should be with us Friday, so as soon as customs have cleared it I will have a computer and will be able to update 'what we have done since getting to Oz' lol...

Hi Shelly We put our money direct into their bank account, have the company got a good reputation? We used someone off poms in Adelaide who had been used by lots of fellow poms and had a good rep, they even picked us up from the airport.

not bad at all Millie, struggling to get into teaching here even in TAFE...they want me to pay to transfer my UK qual over even though it has been assessed for my visa. Stupid really because I have friends who did the same as me and have gone straight into TAFE albeit different states. The conversion was all based on APL so no actual work would have to be done... I am going to a uni open day on Sat to see if I can fast track into secondary... i have signed on with an agency to see if I can get some cheffing work, they rang me yesterday and have got full time work for me from tomorrow, at least it will bring in another income whilst I attack the teaching side of things... Oh and its freezing on an evening! Mike got a job in the second week of being here...thankfully. When are you moving?

if you have tried and haven't been able to secure a job then you should do what you need to do.... You can't be expected to live on thin air!
