  1. It costs £680 to go bankrupt, so it would be cheaper to pay the debt, they have no way of enforcing civil debt from the U.K in Australia, and even if there was, they wouldn't bother, its 500 quid , you will need to protect your parents from being bothered though, you could write, not call, with your Australian address, see what they say, first thing is. make them prove that you do actually owe them something.
  2. No good? https://www.nab.com.au/personal/travel-and-overseas-banking/open-account-from-overseas
  3. Watch out for that myocarditis then, or portal vein thrombosis.
  4. I've lived in Australia for over a decade in the past, moved back and forward a couple of times, been back in the U.K for six years now, I wouldn't contemplate ever living in Australia again if I wasn't married to an Australian. not that there is anything wrong with Australia. I'm just very happy where I am.
  5. Thank you, taken out of the upstairs bedroom window.
  6. After the recent goings on, I'd be giving Qatar a wide birth.
  7. Irish citizens will still be able to live in the UK after brexit.
  8. My sister in law sent a birthday gift to my wife, from Melbourne to the UK, as it was tracked she could see where it was, it didn't leave Australia for more than a month, it arrived at our house about a week after it left Australia.
  9. 5 months is a very short time, and now would be a really bad time to return to the U.K, maybe you could treat the next 18 moths or so as a kind of working holiday , in the meantime try do all the great things there are to do in Australia , they may still want to come home after that, they may not, if they do, then you will need to have that conversation, I'm guessing he is feeling trapped right now, maybe he could relax and enjoy things a bit more if you reassured him it doesn't have to be forever, even if you do come back after a couple of years, you can do it knowing you gave it a good go. Best of luck with whatever you decide to do.
  10. Ketchup is the work of the devil.
  11. Burger with the lot, yum, beetroot on a burger is genius.
  12. Yeah, that's what I did, they asked for passport details when we booked the tickets, without thinking I put our UK passport details in, when we checked in at the airport I showed them the UK and Aussie passports, they changed them on their system at the check in.
  13. I wouldn't worry too much, make sure you have both passports with you, if you do need to change it, they could probably make the necessary changes when you check in, happened to me once.
