  1. I would agree, I live in one of the so called Pom enclaves in the South and been near other Brits was even in the list of considerations. Looking at the map posted above except for one or two areas in the south of the city it's all pom country.
  2. It runs alongside Central station
  3. I would assume she's talking about Union St in Glasgow
  4. Not totally true it was the President at the time (under pressure from Spain who were trying to avoid Catalonian independence) who made the statement, legal advice was spilt. Although moving from one overlord to another seemed stupid to me, independence should mean independence. Cameron told a lot of lies, pensions and currency are two very big ones. Europe was another.
  5. That's sounds right, unless they've changed it.
  6. Arnold Clark used to hire out dual control cars, my son sat his test in one about 10 years ago, so that may be an option. A quick look at their website, they appear to still do this.
  7. My daughter did hers in a manual a couple of years ago. A quick google search shows a lot of instructors with manuals.
  8. No. It's actual 50 hours but none of that needs to be with a driving instructor. As long as you have a license you can do it.
  9. So you cant see the entrance on your left? If there is a car to your left which enters the roundabout before you you should give way to it. Incidentally when I was taught to drive the law was the same in the UK - you had to give way to vehicles already on the roundabout. I don't know if that has changed.
  10. So was I but I was offered almost 6 times our combined wages for a mortgage. I had not even thought about it for a few years as I didn't think I had a chance in my early 50's. This was only 3-4 years ago. Currently I will be 82/83 before it is paid off and that is after a remortgage reducing it by 2 years.
  11. Bear in mind it is illegal to do this in most states and may invalidate your house insurance.
  12. Mark McGowan is gone, the fruit loop comments are mainly by East coasters who didn't like him standing up for WA and not caving into NSW demands, he remained pretty (very) popular with the electorate in WA prior to his resignation. I've never been a fan of him but he did handle the covid situation in WA very well.
  13. It would have been Dom Pérignon or a nice bottle of Cab Sav. Can't believe you never went to Clatty Pats.
